We have answered all your questions in a few short videos.
Who Are We?
Ownership & Our Mission
Who are we? And I wanna say we, I'm referring to myself Gabe Flugas and my business partner and best bud Joey Johan. We're the owners of the company. We are obviously heavily involved in the marketing of the company, in the sales of the company, in the service delivery of the company, and
the mission of default kings overall, Which is to show the world the blessings that God has for them on the other side of good health.
Yes, absolutely. This entire company is just a trojan horse for the gospel. We absolutely believe that health and honoring our bodies is a foundational part of our relationship with God and our walk with Christ. And it is our mission for the world to see that on the other side of obedience to God, of honoring our bodies, there are blessings beyond what we can ask or imagine.
We believe that people seeing and experiencing those blessings glorifies God. That is amazing for Christians and non Christians alike. The reason why at this point in time we're specifically working with Christian entrepreneurs is because the men who are Christian entrepreneurs are the leaders of this world. They hold the impact, they hold the influence.
And ultimately, if we can help them get healthier, stronger, even look better, we believe that's the highest possible leverage thing for us to do. To be able to make sure that the entire world knows the blessing God has for them on the other side of good health. If you cannot tell by now, Joey and I myself are not the average gym bro or fitness influencer. We are entrepreneurs, we are men of God and ultimately believe that it is our calling to build the kingdom of God and to serve his people so that we can glorify his name.
And that is the entire focus of every single thing that we do here at Duval Kings. We view these six packs as a side benefit, although that's great too.
Gabe & Joey's Background
That you know a bit more about Joey and I specifically, we both have backgrounds in kinesiology, physical therapy, strength and conditioning, and nutritional science. Joey himself was actually born into a family of physical therapists.
His dinner table family debates were around recovery modalities, athletic performance and injury recovery. Joey was also personally mentored by Marcus Marinelli with Stipe Miocic's strength and conditioning coach. If you don't know Stipe Miocic is a heavyweight UFC champion. Joey was also personally mentored by Lebron James's strength and conditioning.
And Joey himself became the strength and conditioning coach of John Carroll University soccer team in the year where that soccer team won the national championship. Joey's worked with a thousand plus people up to this point. And when I personally met Joey, although I myself had mentor under Ray Lynn, she was Tim Tebow's physical therapist and studied kinesiology at the University of Central Florida. Joey showed me things about athletic performance, strength and conditioning, exercise selection, muscle building and nutrition that I had never considered before.
When it comes to building muscle, losing fats, building functional strength, improving your energy, improving your mobility and all of the physical results that we talk about here at Default Kings, you are in great hands.
Where It All Started
Now on the other side of the equation, where this all really began for Default Kings uniquely was in my childhood. Because growing up, as a kid, I always watched my dad. He was a former athlete in high school, but my dad would jokingly say that the day things fell apart for him was the day that I was born.
Of course, that's a joke. But what he means is that he started to prioritize family, he started prioritize the kids, he started prioritize business. And ultimately, he ended up putting everything else before him. And while he was running his businesses, he would lose weight and gain it back, lose weight and gain it back, trying all the fasts that you can think of.
Following the advice of his doctors, He even went us so far as to take a keto retreat where he moved out of our house for a month to learn the keto lifestyle. And he did lose weight, but when he came back, he reverted back to his old default actions and the weight came back on. And that just became another failure to add to his track record, which led to more inconsistency, more self doubt, more negative self talk, more shame, ultimately even worse health. Eventually, my dad had type two diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, and even more.
Now because of these health issues, my dad ended up losing his businesses because he couldn't work. And even after losing his businesses, when he got a job in finance, he ended up losing his job because he was hospitalized eighteen times in one year. He burned through a lifetime's worth of disability fits and everything started to weigh on him. First, there was not being able to move, have control over his body or be present with his family.
Then there was not feeling strong or high energy or like a man. Then there was how that was impacting the family's finances and his marriage with my mother and ultimately his relationship with the sons. And the combination of that repeated failure and shame led my dad into a state of depression. And in twenty sixteen, he actually ended up attempting suicide.
This was a huge wake up call for young Dave because there was this moment where I was looking at the person who was supposed supposed to be my father, my spiritual leader. The person who had raised me in church and brought me up with the values of discipline and hard work and being obedient to God. And there he was struggling to honor his body. And the struggles ultimately led to him attempting to take his own life.
Now there is an indescribable amount of fear, pain and honestly anger that built in me as a teenager. I got to the point where I wondered if my dad even loved me. My dad must rather continue to eat crappy food, shortening his life, than he would to do the work, put his foot down, discipline himself, honor his body so that he can be here with me, his son, and live a long healthy life. That pain increased my awareness.
It made me pay attention to not just the crazy yo yo diets that my dad was doing, but the lies that he believed about who he was and about what he was capable of that led to him taking the actions to sabotage his health. It made me pay attention to the very words that my dad would speak over himself, as well as the habits, the identities that he held, and the unhealthy default actions created a living nightmare. I started studying everything that I could about health. I enrolled myself in the BACE based program in my high school years, which is a pre biomedical sciences track, where I was learning about the root cause of disease and diabetes and metabolic issues.
Then in college, it meant studying biology and then ultimately kinesiology, which is exercise science and nutritional science. And while I was studying and mentoring under Ray Leonard, Tim Tebow, a physical therapist, I started to work with clients one on one. I was fueled almost with this rage and passion to help people get healthy. I would never let my kids go through what I went through in my dad's health situation.
The Turning Point
But after about a year and a half of building my business, going to school full time, dealing with unhealthy relationship issues, and honestly just not being where I should have been in my walk with the Lord, I myself started to slip. I started to have unhealthy default actions. I would turn to food after stressful moments at work. I would over drink on the weekends and the crazy part is I knew exactly why I was doing what I was doing.
I knew I was turning to food as a form of emotional coping. But for some reason, I could not get myself to stop. This was even worse for me because I was actually a health and fitness coach. My entire role, my entire calling, my entire career relied upon me being a credible leader in this one area of life.
And I was still falling short. I tried the crazy challenges. I tried to just be more disciplined. Ultimately, none of that ever lasted and I found myself gaining weight and getting up to two zero six pounds at five foot ten, which is already in the overweight category.
And getting a blood test done where when I went on my phone to look at the results, I was an indistinguishable pixel away from being considered pre diabetic. And this was a huge wake up call for me. This was a rock bottom for me mentally, physically, and also spiritually.
What The Word Teaches Us About Honoring Our Bodies
Now at the time, I didn't know what God was doing, but I finally had a massive revival in my faith.
I started going back to church. I actually built a relationship with God rather than just believing in God. And I was spending hours in the Word. I ended up losing the weight that I had gained.
I lost twenty three pounds in eighty four days. And at the same time, I started to look for in the Word of God, what does this teach us about honoring our bodies? What are the principles that we can use and apply to ourselves so that we can have not just obedience in honoring our bodies, but so that we can experience the fruit and blessings of honoring our bodies. And it is not that we should fast for forty days and forty nights to lose forty pounds.
And it is not a Samson's workout plan. But there are absolutely principles that the Bible gives us that empower us and energize us to honor our bodies. To discipline our bodies. To rely on the Holy Spirit for comfort instead of going to food for comfort.
To be able to steward the vehicles that God has loaned us while stewarding everything else including our businesses and families. And that is what I credit to being able to keep off the weight that I have lost for the last four plus years since. Even through business struggles and victories. Even through dating my wife long distance for fourteen months and flying between Florida and Canada as well as all the business networking trips in between.
Through moving to Tennessee from Florida. Through having a baby on the way, this right here is what I credit to all the results that you have seen us produce with people in default king. That is a little bit about us, our accolades, and what we've done and who we are. That's it.
We'll see you in the next video.

How Does This Work?
This Is NOT Personal Training
Okay. So how does this work? In this video, I'm covering what this is not. I'm covering what this is.
I'm covering exactly how we deliver service. Now first off, this is not personal training or online personal training. You don't need somebody who is just going to give you workouts and clap for you and be a cheerleader for you as you lift some weight. We are also not nutritionists.
You don't need somebody who's just prescribing you a meal plan that's rudimentary with exactly what you eat, handing it over to you and wishing the best of luck. This is also not just like a Christian men's group. There's obviously the fellowship and accountability factor and yes, there are aspects of our service delivery where we're literally opening up the bible, connecting with one another, encouraging one another, sharpening one another, but this isn't like Christian bible fat camp.
What We Do & Our Team's Expertise
At default kings, we are a full stack Christian fitness coaching company.
What that means is we're gonna be delivering to you completely custom tailored nutrition, totally custom tailored workout protocols and you're gonna be working with a coaching staff that has formal education in kinesiology, nutritional science, physical therapy. The coaching staff at default kings are never will be just formal clients who saw great results who are now acting as accountability buddies. You'll be working with professionals who are formally educated, who have a track record of thousands of clients who they've actually produced results for, and whose job focus and mission is to ensure that they can support you in being successful in this area of life.
There's four big focuses of what we're going to do to support you in reaching your goals here at default kings. And on your assessment, we'll talk about how these specifically apply to you because there will be nuances and differences. Of course, depending on your exact situation and what you need. Remember, every single thing that we do here is completely custom tailored.
Biblical Mindset Shifts For Discipline & Consistency
But the first big pillar of what we do is the biblical mindset shifts. These are gonna be the biblical principles that we teach you that will support you in changing your default actions. Solving the mental blocks, dealing with the spiritual issues, and ultimately, the default actions like stress eating and mindlessly snacking, skipping workouts, going all in then messing up one time and throwing in the towel, binge eating, hitting snooze, late night snacking, etcetera, etcetera. Dealing with all of those things so that we can establish consistency, have honoring our bodies as a natural part of our God given identity and so that we're finally in agreement with how honoring our bodies getting fit and healthy is part of our God given mission because when that is solved and we're consistent long term, which is what leads of course to the weight coming off, but then being able to maintain that and continue to progressing even after that weight comes off.
Custom Tailored Nutrition
Second big pillar of what we do is gonna be the nutrition. There are two sides to this coin. The first is us giving you the exact guidance to remove all the guesswork for exactly how much of what foods you need to be eating to see the best results.
Second side of this coin is teaching you how to do this as sustainably as humanly possible. Obviously, here we believe that is our role to steward our bodies, but we also believe that God designed the human body perfectly and God gave us taste buds for a reason. We've also just seen from spending years in this field that the people who are deliberately enjoying their nutrition are the ones who are successful. So this will not be cutting out carbs, this will not be hyper restrictive fasting, this will not be hyper restricting calories, This will not be us telling you you need to eat some weird supplement that we discovered down in the Amazon.
This will not be you having to order a bunch of weird supplements that are gonna magically help you lose the weight. This will not be you counting points arbitrarily. This will not be us diagnosing simply, hey, you're a social eater, you know, you should work on that. We're gonna be making sure you know exactly what you need to eat to see the best physical results while teaching you how to make that as sustainable and as enjoyable as possible.
Even through business travel, through business networking events, any social eating event that you can think of. We're even gonna be giving you decision making frameworks that make it second nature for you to be able to stay on track when you don't have time to cook, when you didn't prepare anything, when you're on the road, when you're sitting down at family dinner, during the holidays and during vacation. These are all normal parts of life that will always be normal parts of life. And so if this were only something that you can stick to for a few months, then it wouldn't be worth doing in the first place.
Again, the goal is effectiveness of course and then sustainability.
Personalized Workouts
Now for your workouts, what we're gonna be doing is completely custom tailoring this to your schedule, to your goals, and of course to your body. You are not gonna be doing the same workouts as me or as Mike from Texas or as Jeff from Tennessee. Everything is completely custom tailored.
The focus of these workouts is going to be to build lean muscle mass. Because lean muscle mass is the most metabolically active tissue on your body. And so focusing on building lean muscle mass, of course, while we build functional strength and flexibility and mobility, is the highest leverage focus that you can have with the goal of losing the weight and keeping it off. Building lean muscle mass quite literally makes it easier long term to lose the weight and keep it off.
So that will be the focus. Of course, again, we'll custom tailor this to your goal. So if you wanna improve your goal swing, reduce back pain, reduce knee pain, and overall just feel better, then we're gonna support you in that too.
Coaching, Accountability & Education
Now fourth big pillar of what we do is the coaching accountability and education.
This is where we're gonna be giving you of course direct feedback on how to see the best results. We're gonna be on deck to answer your questions. We'll also be checking in on you to hold you accountable. I know that's a buzzword that gets thrown around a lot in the industry right now, so we're gonna be taking this a step further than just saying, hey, how's it going?
The team that will be holding you accountable are men who are in the word of God daily, who understand the goodness of God in this area of life and who will be able to come into agreement with you about what God can do in this area of your life. These are gonna be men who are familiar with the mental blocks, the lies that you believe, the limiting beliefs that you hold, that end up determining actions that have gotten you up to this point. And so these aren't just check ins. This is not some kind of like drill sergeant boot camp.
It's not just guys who are gonna say, like, hey, it's okay. You know, you messed up. We're gonna be bringing in the culture of Jesus into every interaction. What that's gonna mean is of course giving you grace when you slip up, so that you don't fall into shame, hiding or being afraid to be held accountable, but we're also going to call you higher and remind you of who God made you to be.
The same way that Jesus would. Now, we'll also be giving you the education that you need to be able to fully take ownership of this area of your life, steward it properly and succeed long term. Yes. We'll be handling all the guess work while we work together.
Yes. We'll be simplifying the processes for you, so you don't feel overwhelmed by the process of honoring your body, but we'll also be teaching you how to steward this on your own. One of the greatest gifts of committing to honoring your body is specifically that no one can do it for you. I can't lift the weights for you.
I'm not gonna be there to slap the food out of your hands at the end of the night. Night. You've probably even asked your wife to hold you accountable or cook all the healthy foods, but that hasn't worked. And the reality is, if you are totally putting the responsibility of honoring your body onto someone else, it is never going to work.
So we're gonna be supporting you and guiding you. We are your council of trusted advisors, but ultimately the word says that my people perish from lack of knowledge. And so we take that pretty seriously. We wanna give you the knowledge so that you can have full ownership of this and be able to steward it no matter what environment you're in, no matter what circumstance you're in, no matter what the stressors are in your life and so that you can steward it long term even after engaging with us hands on.
Delivery
Now delivery for this is very simple. The first thing that we do is of course handle the investments and take care of the service delivery agreement. At that point, we'll bring you into the community. We're gonna create a private group chat where you'll see myself, you'll see Joey, and you'll see a dedicated client success specialist.
This is going to the hub for your communication, your accountability, getting your questions answered, and the deeper level conversations that need to take place as we apply the biblical teachings so that we can change our default actions. We're then going to schedule a fifteen minute kickoff call with your client success specialist. We do this ASAP to make sure that you can get off to the hottest art possible, that you know exactly what you need to do to see results, that you know how to get the best return on your investment, and ultimately so that you can initiate a process of finally losing the weight and keeping it off.
At that time, we're also going to create an account for you on our private training app. This will be like the GPS for your workouts and nutrition. It's on your phone. You're not chasing down PDFs or emails or anything like that.
It tells you exactly what you need to do each day, so that there's no guesswork you can step into every single day confident that you know exactly what you need to do. This is also something that's automatically updating so that we can see your progress, we can see what you're doing day to day, keep you accountable for that, and tailor things on your behalf to make sure that it's fitting your lifestyle and to make sure that you're continuing to progress. The next thing we're gonna do is we're gonna bring you into the default Kings inner circle. This is the private community of all the men who are working with one on one.
This is where you'll introduce yourself. This is where we're gonna see other guys who are signing up in the same week as you, who you'll really be able to resonate with. These are guys who are going to very much understand what you're struggling with right now, what you have struggled with in the past. These are guys who are gonna be on the journey with you.
You're also gonna see guys who are three months into the service, who have totally seen the flip switch and are on fire and these are gonna be the guys who are really encouraging you through the process. Then you'll see guys who are three plus years in. These are the guys who have fully gotten jacked, who are seeing the blessings that God has for them on the outside of good health show up in their marriages, in their families, in their businesses. These are the guys who are going to be living testaments to you as you work through this of what God can really do in this area of your life.
You'll be getting ideas for what's working in the real lives of the other guys in the group. You'll be getting exclusive content from us, from what Joey and myself are seeing to help you see faster results and you'll be getting exposed to a community of men that's gonna provide your mind with the evidence it needs that, yes, you can do this. Oh, you'll also be getting access to our group call calendar. This is where you'll be able to see exactly when our group calls are.
This is where you'll be able to hop on zoom, get direct feedback from Joey and I on seeing the best results. You'll be able to connect with the other men in the group, get to know them, sharpen each other. This is also where we're going to open up our bibles, dive into the word together, and talk through how principles in the word apply to our health and fitness so that can honor our bodies, overcome the unhealthy default actions and ultimately see consistency and success long term. All those group calls are recorded, so you can listen back to them and we're gonna be leveraging AI to annotate those group calls, so that you see exactly what was covered in each group call.
You can see chapter titles for the specific issues. So when you have access to that library, if you're stuck on something and you need direct feedback on it, you can open the library, skip to where we address that in the call and get that direct feedback that you need. Last part of this is the video modules we're giving you access to. Now, there are gonna be specific modules that we give you to directly address the mental blocks, the spiritual issues, and ultimately the unhealthy default actions to help you get unstuck.
There's gonna be action tasks in those modules that we have you do, so you're not just learning, but you're learning by doing. This is where the mindset shifts are really going to set in. This is really the meat of the default kinks program. And if you watch the interviews on our YouTube channel, you're gonna see that pretty much everybody speaks highly of the nutrition and the workouts, but where they credit their success, specifically in this program, to the modules that open up these biblical principles.
You'll be getting access to those immediately. We're also gonna be giving you long term fitness and maintenance modules. These will be the modules that teach you the exact fitness principles that you need to know in order to be able to steward your body as your body gets leaner, as your body gets stronger over time. And you're gonna be getting two years of access to all those modules.
The Ultimate Goal
And so ultimately, here's what we're after for you. We're gonna be targeting losing fat and building muscle and strength at the same time. We'll be doing this without the extreme or restrictive diets. We'll be doing this in a way that fits your lifestyle.
And most importantly, we're gonna be bringing in biblical principles that are gonna help you strengthen your mind and deal with the root causes of the habits that have gotten you up to this point. Our goal is to help you change your default action. This will mean, of course, the fat loss, the muscle gain. This will mean getting to a healthy body weight.
This will mean improvement in blood markers. We've seen a lot of guys like Jim who was a seventy year old c suite exec who lost fifty three pounds in five months. Guys like that who are getting off of medications related to blood pressure and cholesterol, heart disease and diabetes. We're seeing guys develop a stronger sense in spiritual alignment when it comes to honoring their bodies simply for the obedience of that.
But most importantly, because the process of honoring our bodies only happens when we more deeply understand God's love for us. Just like first Corinthians six twenty says that you were bought at a price and therefore honor your bodies. Before Paul calls the people to honor their bodies, he reminds them that they were bought at a price. He reminds them of the love that God has for them.
And quite frankly, that is the most valuable thing that we are hoping you get out of this. We want the entire process of honoring your body, of losing the fat and building the muscle and looking better and feeling better and having more confidence and having more energy and being healthier long term. We want this to empower and strengthen your relationship with Christ because of that is what's going to create transformation. That is what's going to create impact.
That's what's going to create testimony. That is what will serve all the people that God has called you to lead, and that is what will glorify his name. That's it. That is how this works.
See you on the next video.
How Is This Biblical?
Is This Actually Biblical?
This video, I am answering the question of how this is biblical. Now to be clear, we are not just slapping Christian on top of a fitness coaching program, and we're not just using buzzwords and a random Bible verses in hopes to intrigue you, relate to you, or just convince you that somehow this is going to be more effective than just the workouts and nutrition. I know that the concept of implementing faith into fitness is relatively new in the market at the time of this recording. And quite frankly, you're going to be seeing countless other people in the fitness industry slapping the word Christian on top of their coaching and company as an opportunity to capitalize on people who are unwilling to do deeper due diligence like you are doing right now by watching this video.
We know this because we have been teaching this from a biblical perspective for years, and there was a time where this didn't exist. But, again, now you are seeing gym bros and people who just happen to be Christian slap this word on top of their fitness coaching, hoping that it's going to intrigue you or attract you. This is not just a buzzword we're using for the marketing of this company. We base every single aspect of our interaction with you and how we structure our service delivery around principles pulled specifically from the bible.
Quite literally part of our service delivery and part of what we're gonna ask you to do for you to be expectant of any results in working with us is going to be opening up the bible.
How The Word Is Used
We're gonna be pointing you in the direction of specific biblical passages and biblical stories that you will be able to directly apply to specific struggles that you are facing with your health and fitness. From things like stress eating, we're also gonna be sharing with you biblical principles that help you deal with the problem of shame around your past with weight loss and dishonoring your body that help you deal with that feeling of I feel like a hypocrite.
I feel like my body doesn't match my leadership. We're gonna be sharing with you biblical principles that help you overcome the doubt that you're facing in your weight loss journey, that feeling of I've lost weight before, but I've always gained it back, that feeling that holds you back from even wanting to attempt losing the weight again in the first place. We're gonna share with you lesson to help you overcome the perfectionism that keeps you paralyzed, that feeling of if I mess it up once, I'm just gonna blow it all up.
Biblical Accountability
We're also going to be surrounding you from the coaching staff to the other men going through the program with you with men who can come into agreement with you about what God can do in this area of your life.
That's gonna help you overcome the isolation and that feeling of nobody understands the stress I'm facing. Nobody understands everything else I have to steward, and nobody understands how deeply rooted these eating habits are or these habits of laziness are. The Bible says that two are better than one. If either of them falls down, one can help the other.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. That's Ecclesiastes four nine through ten. The Bible also says that iron sharpens iron. I know you've heard that verse thrown around in every men's group, in every church group, in every men's weekend retreat, but that verse is very specific in when it says iron sharpens iron.
It does not say cloth sharpens iron. It does not say cotton sharpens iron. It says iron sharpens iron. So we're going to be deliberate in making sure that you are surrounded by men who are holding themselves to a higher standard in this area of life.
Mistakes We've Made With This
To be frank with you, Joe and I have made the mistake in the past in allowing people to join the community who did not uphold these higher standards, and that is on us, of course, having a little bit of a heart to serve, but also, of course, with the self interest of continuing to grow our business and accepting anyone who would pay us. But we have changed that standard. We have kicked people out who did not belong. Inside the group, we've even gone as far as to issue full refunds for people who wanted to be in default kinks who we believe were not empowering the community.
And so this will truly be a group of men who are holding themselves to the highest standard in this area of life and who will hold you to that as well.
We Are NOT Pastors
To be clear, myself and Joey, we're not pastors. We're not ministers. We have not gone to seminary, and we are not claiming to be your spiritual elders.
Joey and I myself are on our own walks with Christ. We are submitted to the elders of our church, and we are submitted to the word of God as the ultimate authority. We are not perfect. We do not know everything.
And with some of our closest, most successful clients, we have our theological differences. But to be clear, we're not gonna be focusing on any of the secondary issues of Christianity.
What Denominations Are Accepted Here?
Joey and I, myself, do not teach any specific denominational lens. Myself and Joey are nondenominational, but we have Catholics in the group.
We have Presbyterians in the group. We have Lutherans in the group. We have Methodists in the group. We have other non denominationals in the group.
We have Baptists in the group. We have Pentecostals in the group. We have Orthodox Christian in the group. The results that you've seen from the people that we work with are from every denomination and faith tradition that you can think of.
Again, here we focus on the primary truth of the gospel and of what the Bible says, and we learn from what the living word of God says and how that empowers us to honor our bodies.
What We Believe
To be completely clear, we are Christians. We believe that Jesus Christ is God. We believe that he died and rose again.
We believe in the trinity, and we believe that Jesus Christ will return one day. We do not believe that Jesus Christ is like God. We do not believe he is a prophet from God, and we do not believe that we can become exactly as Christ like Christ was himself. Just to make that abundantly clear, Christ like Christ was himself.
Just to make that abundantly clear. I'm saying all this because we get these questions all the time.
Our Expectations For You
What we're gonna ask of you is that with every single thing that we teach you, with every biblical reference that we give you, we ask that you take that up in your own personal relationship with God, in your own breathing, and that you take that up in submission to your own spiritual elders. Our goal is to empower you and guide you, but, ultimately, Joy and I have no power over what you do.
But we absolutely believe that the word of God can energize life changing transformation in everything that you do, all the way down to healing the wounds that might, at the root cause, be leading to a poor decisions with food. Joey and I are not pastors, and we are not perfect. We are not even perfect in our health and fitness. But without questioning, God has given us significant victory in this area of life.
He's given us unique authority in this area of life. He has shown us incredible parts of who he is, who he made us to be, and the blessings he has for us in this area of life. So we're gonna be sharing with you lessons that have given us victory in this and that we have seen lead to victory in the lives of the eight hundred plus other men that we have worked with one on one. We are battle testing everything that we teach you ourselves.
We correct ourselves when we mess up. Some of our favorite clients in the world who are seeing the best results have theological differences with us.
This Is NOT Your Church
This is not your church. We encourage you to go to church.
We encourage you to take every single thing that we teach up in your own bible reading, in your own prayer, and with your spiritual elders. We know that the power of the living God, Jesus Christ, who died, defeated death, and rose again. We know that that power, that resurrection power is capable of reviving and redeeming anything. And if you need revival in this area of your life, then we just cannot think of a better solution than opening up the Bible, seeing who God is, who he says we are, how much he loves us, and how he instructs us to live.
We believe that the Bible, the living word of God, is what will initiate the transformation that you're looking for. That's what's gonna bless you beyond any of the physical benefits that you achieve with default king. That's how this is biblical.
Is This a Scam?
Empty Promises In Our Industry
This video, we're covering how do you know this isn't real. Now, until I get it, the Internet is flooded with sims, but even worse than that are legitimate companies just making empty promises that they can't deliver on. In fact, so many scams or straight up ineffective fitness coaching is one of the reasons that this company was founded in the first place. Like mentioned in the who we are video, I witnessed my dad attempt and invest resources, time, effort and energy into more weight loss programs than I can count.
Ultimately, the worst part wasn't that companies weren't delivering their services, it's that they were making promises that they couldn't keep. That was a huge factor in my dad's struggle with yo yo weight loss and weight regain. And ultimately, one of the problems that we see most of the default kings clientele having dealt with before they work with us. It is rare that anybody comes to default kings after never having tried anything else before.
Most of the guys that we work with have invested into other fitness programs or just straight up tried other diets that did not help them solve the root cause problems that they were doing. That is why I would never expect you to simply believe our promises,
Our Track Record
but I want you to actually look at our track record. Go to our website, look at the hundreds of exam offers that we've posted there. Go to the default king's YouTube channel.
Watch the live interviews with actual human beings that we've conducted who have gone through our program as paying customers and are describing their experience and please Google us.
Deep Research Is Welcomed
Let's read all of our view and go as far as using the deeper research setting on ChatGPT to dig up any dirt that you can find on us. There's a video where we do that for you and just share with you the results that you'll find somewhere else on this page. So give that a watch to save yourself some time.
But the reason I say that is that in Matthew seventeen twenty, it tells us therefore by their fruits, you will know them. So that is my advice to you and look at our fruit and that's how you'll know.
Legal Registration
To provide more clarity, we are a legally registered LLC under the name default kings. We're pre registered in the state of Florida at the time of this recording, June thirtieth twenty twenty five.
Although, it's possible that we move that registration to Tennessee in the near future.

We operate a hundred percent remotely but our company's legal mailing address is two two one two South Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, Florida three two eight two eight. And Joey and I are currently based in the Nashville Nashville area.

If you want a deeper level dive into how we teach and how we think, definitely go to YouTube.
Google Our Names
Again, if you just Google our name, you're gonna find YouTube videos, podcasts, reviews, and we encourage you to do that to see what other people are saying about us. And if you wanna hear it directly from the horse's mouth from paying customers who have actually invested their time and money with us, feel free to check out the default king's YouTube channel and watch our case study playlist. This is where we do a long form open format interviews with people who we've worked with, where they share what they got out of their experience working with us.
How We Legally Protect You & Us
Additionally, when any transaction is made with default kinks LLC, it is going to involve a service delivery agreement. These service delivery agreements are legally binding contracts that of course acknowledge that the transaction has taken place with your authorization. These also include a basic liability like you get from a gym. Given the nature of our service, we don't want you to sue us if you drop a dumble on your toe.
There's also protection of jelly and eye in those service delivery agreements because unfortunately over the years we have had a few crazies come through and threaten us, but I know it's not you. And those are also going to state that we are legally obligated to deliver the services that we promised to you and we're not gonna take what you invest and run off to Mexico with it. Again, feel completely free to read through those items and assess them when you decide to do business with us. That's it.
See you on the next video.
What Is The Pricing?
Total Investment & Structure
What is the total investment and what is the structure of that investment when you engage with us? So to be clear, the exact investment total is going to depend on exactly what level of support you need in order to finally solve these root cause problems and have the highest likelihood of success and having the necessary mindset shifts so that you can come into full agreement with the fact that honoring your body is part of your god given identity because that's what's going to lead to results long term. Now if you're watching this video and considering engaging with default kings, that already tells us that the problems that you need to solve are not the dollar tree level problems.
Default kings is not the dollar tree option. This is a premium level service with the goal of supporting you and having a life changing transformation.
Is This A Subscription or One-Time Fee?
Now some common questions we get about investment and structure is is this a subscription or is it a one time investment? When you're engaging with default kings, it is not a subscription.
It is a one time investment, and there are different ways to structure breaking that investment up or you can pay it in one. Your initial investment with default kings whether one time or split up will be handled during the term of your service. And if you need more flexibility for installments, we have third party platforms that allow you to break up the investment more.
What Happens After The Initial Engagement?
After your initial term of service, there are no automatic subscriptions or automatic charges.
However, you will have the option of continuing to engage with default kings. Again, at different levels of support, at the end of your initial term, we have a month to month investment option or we have an annual investment option. Investment levels after your initial term of service with default kings are discounted compared to when you join.
Other Incurred Costs of Working With Us
Other incurred costs that you can expect when engaging with default kings are of course investing into a gym membership if you don't already have one.
However, of course, if you prefer to work out at home then that's not necessary. You You don't have to buy any specific meals or supplements but of course, we're gonna be coaching you on specifically what foods that you should be eating and what supplements you should be taking which obviously is going to require an investment on your part. If you don't already have a scale, a scale will be a necessary tool that we use to measure your progress And if need be depending on your increasing strength levels, we'll consult you on your best use of capital and space when potentially expanding your home gym equipment.
Why We Charge What We Do
Obviously, it's impossible for me to know the exact level of support that you're gonna need at this point in time. Regardless, I wanna give you an idea of why we do charge what we do. Number one, of course, this is Joey and I's business. We absolutely want you to invest your resources with us.
Yes. Obviously, we leverage those resources to be able to fund the business to serve you at a high level. We're investing into our client success team. Team.
We're investing into software and the platforms that we utilize when delivering the service, and we are reinvesting funds to be able to continue to expand the reach of the company and ultimately serve more people. And one hundred percent, again, Joy and I do have a self interest in you investing with us. We are business owners as are you. Joy and I believe in a God of abundance, and we believe that he is a multiplicative God.
We do not believe in the poverty and scarcity gospel that plagues the minds of many Christians unfortunately in twenty twenty five. We believe that when we are serving customers at a high level and providing them more in value in return from their financial investment with us, that the natural outcome is Joey and I are going to be taking profits from this business. We do not believe that that is a bad thing. I absolutely have self interest in continuing to increase our own profitability.
We believe that growing this business glorifies God. We have a self interest in providing for and protecting our families. We have a self interest in building our own financial resources to be able to build the kingdom of God and experience all of the goodness that he has for us. And we understand that when you invest your resources with us, it is our duty to deliver you above and beyond what you've invested in terms of value.
The Cost of Inaction
Now when you're considering investing in our services specifically, it is important to consider the cost of inaction action as well as the cost of potentially trying to piece together a solution that we deliver to you on your own. The average annual direct cost per patient for something like heart disease in general ends up being between five and eleven thousand dollars a year per patient. Coronary disease and stroke can be between eighteen to thirty five thousand dollars a year. General heart disease can end up costing around fifty thousand dollars a year.
Diabetes ends up costing around twelve thousand in attributable costs all the way up to nineteen thousand dollars a year. Diabetes even when insured ends up costing the average pace in between three point three and four point six thousand dollars a year. Knee replacement can end up costing anywhere between fourteen and fifty thousand dollars. Hip replacement can cost upwards of forty thousand dollars.
From a purely financial standpoint, not making an investment to increase your odds at avoiding these issues is simply poor stewardship, purely talking about finances. Without investing to solve the problems that you're facing right now, you're nearly guaranteeing that you're gonna have incurred cost that are many times more than your investment with us, which would be resources that you could have used to simply enjoy the fruits of your labor, bless your family, to be able to invest and multiply, and to be able to build the kingdom. It is a poor financial decision, not invest into your health.
That's why James five three tells us, your gold and silver are corded. Their coercion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded your wealth in the last days. Not only is it poor stewardship on paper to not invest into your health, but there seems to be deep spiritual implications around the behavior of hoarding and holding tightly onto the resources that God's placed in your hands and how that impacts quite literally your physical body.
The Greek translation of that word your flesh in James five three is not referring to spiritual flesh. The original translation is Tas Sarka, which means that the literal holding onto and hoarding of resources destroys the physical body. The Bible also tells us that gluttons and drunkards will become poor, which seems to be reflected in the statistics that show that the highest income earners across industries tend to be the most attractive people in those industries. It is not a secret, and my goal is not to sugarcoat what the cost of an action is for you.
In fact, Jesus tells us before going to build a tower, we should count the cost, which is why in Luke fourteen twenty eight to twenty nine, Jesus tells us, suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won't you first shut down and estimate if you have enough money to complete it? He is telling us directly that before you make a decision to not invest into your health, actually assess what that decision is going to cost you. That is my goal in helping you understand what the actual financial costs are of not investing into your health.
This is not about you not being able to afford health care. I know that you can afford the best health care in the world, But consider that as a poor use of resources to not invest into solving your health issues. And quite frankly, consider that the most valuable implication of not being healthy has nothing even to do with financial aspect. It has to do with missing out on the blessings that God has given you, with not being able to be present with your children, with not being able to be here for a long time with your children, with being a less credible leader in the mission that God's given you.
The true cost of an action in not honoring your body is so much greater than the financial implications of having to deal with poor health.
The Cost of Potential Alternative Solutions
And to be able to solve this problem by piecing together personal trainers and nutritionists, at the least, you're looking at fifty dollars a session for the personal trainers. If you plan on working out three times a week, that's a hundred and fifty dollars a week or six hundred dollars a month, which works out to seventy two hundred dollars a year. Year over year for every year that you intend on having the support that you need.
And that is only with a personal trainer who could have been certified in a weekend by taking a seven hour course. Not to mention that the personal trainer isn't going to be giving you nutrition prescriptions, keeping you accountable, or really teaching you what you need to know in the first place to solve the root cause problems that got you here. That isn't even counting if you were to bring in a nutritionist, which is gonna require thousands of dollars in terms of investments. Again, only to give you a prescription of exactly what food you need to eat, but without giving you decision making frameworks to be able to sustain healthy eating when those foods aren't available.
If you're conservatively considering investing tens of thousands of dollars a year in order to solve this problem year over year without even truly getting the help you need to solve the root cause problems that got you here, then by all means take that route because investing with us is gonna be a fraction of that cost. We're going to be supporting you in a way that goes far beyond nutrition tips and clapping for you throughout your workouts. Our goal in your investment with us goes far beyond even the potential financial upside of having more confidence, having more energy, and being able to deliver at a higher level for your business.
Our Hope
Our hope is that this produces in value infinitely more than it took you to invest in the time that you have to spend with your family, in the confidence that you have when your body reflects your discipline and drive, and in the sense of peace that you finally have around health, fitness, your own discipline and honor your body. That is that. See you on the next
What Are The Results? And How Long Does It Take To See Them?
Results Expectations
Welcome back. In this video, we're gonna be covering what you can expect in terms of results and then also realistic timeline of results. How long does it take you to see results? I'm gonna be covering what you can consider to be not the best results in the world.
When working with us, I'll also cover average to mid level results, and then I'll also cover, like, awesome results. Right? To be clear, these will be results that are not typical, but significant is is what I'd say. I am currently screen sharing, the back end system of the software that we use to track progress for clients.
I'm just gonna go through a few guys here who are updating what they're doing in real time. K? So these are actual paying members of Default Kings.
Significant Results Pt. 1
We'll just pull up Kevin for a sec here.
Open up Kevin's file. I'm just gonna click on his body weight here. So Kevin has been working with us since the end of April. He's worked with us for all of May and June.
So about two months here. It's July first, the time of this recording. So a little over two months, and he started at two sixty six. You can see that at this point about two months in, he's at two forty six.
So down about twenty pounds in two months, I consider Kevin's results to be significant. This is awesome. Kevin's absolutely killing it.
Significant Results Pt. 2
Next up, I'll just open Chris.
Chris is sixty years old. He's a business owner. We'll just open up Chris's weight here. Chris has been working with us since the twentieth of May.
So he's about forty days in. Started off at two eighty three, three, and now he's at two sixty three. Forty days in losing twenty pounds, I consider that also very significant results. Chris is killing it.
Worst Case Scenario Results
Just gonna go down the line here and look at Kacen. Kacen is forty six. Kacen has been working with us since the beginning of June, and, again, we are beginning July. So he's been with us for about a month.
Starting weight here was one ninety one, and now he is at one eighty nine. So down, about two pounds in a month. He's had some pretty big fluctuations, which is interesting. This is what I would consider to be not the best results.
Definitely seeing results like this is gonna prompt the coaching team to look a little bit deeper into his file, make sure that we're really crossing our t dotting our i's. And if I open up Kacen's file here just to see, okay, what can be an explanation for slower than typical results, one of the explanations for that is gonna be not hitting nutrition goals. So if we can see here, every one of these bars on the day that is marked dark orange is gonna be when he meets a nutrition goal. If it's not dark orange, then he is not meeting a nutrition goal.
Again, somewhat interesting how on calories he is much lower than we have set for him. Usually, what I see is when somebody is significantly calories that we're giving them, they're typically overeating calories and not tracking what they eat, which, again, is gonna be an explanation for slower weight loss most of the time. Another case could be, hey. These are all the calories that he's eating.
He actually is tracking everything, but he's under eating calories. And there is an ideal calorie level depending on the person that you need to be at for the fastest possible weight loss. And if you're chronically under eating calories too much, then that also can actually slow down weight loss. Again, this would be an explanation for why Casen is seeing slow results compared to Kevin and Chris who are down about twenty pounds already.
But this is something that we're working with Casen on improving. One of the things that is really cool as well is that even if the scale is not moving at the rate they want it to, there's still gonna be progressions in other areas of fitness. For example, if we open up Casen's exercise progression, we see that he is progressing in strength in his capill lateral raise in his chest supported back bomber, which is a fun exercise. Again, also increasing in strength in his dumbbell inclined bench press.
So Casen's increasing in strength while he's losing weight, and, of course, you wanna increase this right away. Also, we're gonna correct that nutrition.
Significant Results Pt. 3
Gonna open up someone else here. Let's look at Alan who updated something about an hour ago.
Alan is sixty one, and Alan has been working with us here since May twelfth. So, again, going on a little over six weeks. Started at two thirty four, and he's now at two eighteen. He's around sixteen pounds in about six weeks.
I'd say Alan is also seeing what I consider to be very significant results.
Mid-Level Results
Let's look at Austin here who is forty one years old. He's been working with us here since beginning of May. So a little under two months.
Started off at a hundred and seventy pounds, and today, he weighed in at a hundred sixty two pounds. So about seven weeks down eight pounds. I'd say Austin's results are pretty average. He's kind of middle of the road, not slower than usual, but also not extremely significant.
Long-Term Results
Now let's look here at Mark Rhodes. Mark is sixty four, and Mark has been working with us for a while. He started in September of twenty twenty four. So he's about nine and a half months into the program, and he started off at two forty five and got down to two twenty plus twenty five pounds from September to February.
Living about twenty five pounds in six months, I consider is pretty middle of the road results. And as you can see now, Mark has been maintaining slowly focused on gaining muscle since about February. And so from February to July, he has on average weighed in about five pounds heavier, which this sharp decline maintaining and then slowly gaining is a totally normal average weight loss graph over a long course of time.
The Most Important Measure of Progress
Now something I wanna bring up that is even more important to look at in terms of progress is actually the consistency.
This is one of the measures of progress that we use here at Default Kings is looking at how consistent somebody is being. Ultimately, your consistency is gonna be a reflection of your default actions, being able to stick to it long term. And as you can see here, if I scroll back through the months for Mark, his consistency is off the charts. You can see it just on the sheer bubbles that are filled in.
There may have been a few days here or a few days there where he didn't hit his marks completely, but Mark has been consistent. This is what we're going for. When we see bubbles filled in like this, that's how we know that your default actions are changing and that you're becoming consistent, which is one of the other main goals of this program on top of your performance increasing with the muscle coming on and the fat coming off.
Home Run Success Stories
Now just to give you another idea of what kind of results you can expect, on our website, we have posted some of our most significant results.
Yes. These are cherry picked. So for example, we have Gavin. He's fifty years old, father of five, owns owns a financial planning practice.
He lost over thirty pounds in twelve weeks. Fantastic results. Another guy is Jim Williams, seven years old c suite exec. He lost fifty three pounds in five months, and he sustained it for five plus months since after hitting that low end.
Fantastic results. Another example of this is gonna be Drew Hartman. He actually lost a hundred and nineteen pounds in a year. Extremely significant results.
He's kept it off for a year and a half plus since then too. One of my favorite examples of this is our client Rich. Rich actually lost forty pounds in five point five months while having a kidney transplant surgery in the middle of working with us where and not only does that take a mental toll on a lot of people, cause a lot ton of stress, cause a lot of people to throw in the towel when they experience injuries or surgeries or anything like that and just gain a bunch of weight back. But Chris both had the discipline through that storm because of the accountability and what we were teaching him on the biblical side of maintaining his default actions.
And And even though he couldn't work out for six plus weeks while working with us, he was still down forty pounds in five point five months. What's up, April? So maybe not the absolute fastest weight loss in terms of total results, but overall, an amazing story. And you see even Rich's family commenting under his interview.
We're saying, let's go Rich. Look so good. Proud of your brother. Praise God for giving you the strength to get where you are today.
He never fails. And amen to then I wanna show you just some more average results. Twenty six point eight pounds lost. I mean, you're gonna see some significant results.
Fifty four pounds lost in abs now. But nineteen pounds lost, more so average. Seventeen pounds lost, more so kind of middle of the road. But you're gonna see a bunch of those more so average results here also just scrolling on our website.
Again, these are more so just guys who we've worked with who have seen kind of average level results. In this industry, it's extremely easy to focus on just total rate of weight loss as proof of results. That absolutely is one of the fruits that we are going for. That's gonna be one of the natural outcomes of the work that we're doing here at Deep Volkanks, rate of weight loss on top of the muscle gain and strength progress.
But, really, what we're going for is the change in your default actions. We want you to be able to establish consistency and develop a stronger mindset and discipline so that you can carry this through long term.
Our Verified Reviews
That's why if you Google default king's reviews and go to our verified reviews, people who have actually been through our service and are paying customers, you're gonna see a bunch of guys who, you know, on the first month in there and saying this coaching is important resources are amazing. You're gonna see guys like Scott said, help me lose sixteen pounds in my first month.
Scott's crushing. And then you're gonna see guys say things like, DK helped me achieve my goals in a long lasting way. I lost weight, gained strength, grew closer to God, and formed many positive lifelong habits. I'm very thankful for the DK team.
Best investment of time and money I've made in a long time. We have four point nine out of five stars right now. We have one four star review. These are all from paying clients.
One of our guys who gave us a four star review is Gary, a great guy, entrepreneur. Said I've enjoyed and been inspired during my twelve week program, Default Kings. It built consistency and positive habits for me that have become my default actions. I recommend this program to any man trying to lose weight, gain energy, and be a better man for the people in his life.
What is Our Success Rate?
Pretty difficult for us to give you an exact number in terms of success rate. Some people ask that question because, of course, there are multiple ways that we measure success. But again, of course, that's gonna be weight loss, muscle gain. That's gonna be people just overall feeling like they are satisfied with the service.
But some of my favorite success stories to guys who have lost weight through life stressors like Tony and really just being consistent overall over the course of a long haul, like five plus months or something like that. Or Jim here who kept his weight off through the holidays five plus months after working with him, or guys like Vinny here who's an entrepreneur who kept off fifty pounds for two and a half years after being directly engaged with the program. So those are some of my favorites. I wanted to show you a little bit of behind the curtain in terms of actual results of people who we're working with, and, of course, you're gonna find a bunch of other results like that if you look us up online.
What Is Required of Me?
What's Required of Me?
Alright. So what is required of you? First off, like mentioned, in every Rio here, everything that we do is totally custom tailored. No one person's workouts are gonna be the same.
No one person's nutrition is gonna be exactly the same, and no one person is going to communicate with us in exactly the same fashion or come to as many coaching calls as the other guy. Our goal and the way we set this up is to give you the exact answer you need to be successful, to be there as your support system and accountability to help you stay on track and continue seeing progress, and also to teach you what you need to know to be able to sustain this long term.
Average Workouts Per Week
Well, on average for workouts, guys are usually working out between three and four times a week. Again, totally depends on the person, so we'll make sure that that plan is totally custom fit for you.
Some guys do work out more. Some guys do work out less. We totally customize this to you.
Nutrition Time Commitment
With nutrition, what we're gonna have we do is track your food.
This means that you'll be inputting what you eat into our app. That's how you'll be able to stay on track with your nutrition goals. This is also how we can make sure that you do what you need to do to be successful, and this also acts as a form of accountability. If you ever tracked your food before and it's still too tedious, keep in mind we're gonna be teaching you ways to make this as simple as humanly possible.
Is it possible to be successful without tracking your food? Technically, yes. But it's also possible to grow your business without tracking your revenue and expenses. However, even though it's possible, it's extremely irresponsible to not take account for what you're doing.
Both from a mindset standpoint and also just a practical, tangible results standpoint, it is good stewardship to make sure you're taking account for the resources that you're putting into your body. And so we'll teach you how to do this as simply as possible and also help you honestly overcome the mental block that are keeping you from doing something that is obviously the most effective way to steward the valuable vehicle that god's giving you to carry out your mission on. The same way you tell somebody that they're just not really serious about running their business if they're unwilling to track the revenue and expenses.
Again, quite honestly, if the idea of stewarding the body that god gave you by tracking what you put into it is an absolute barrier to you, then you have either two options. One, trust that we can help you simplify the process and overcome those mental blocks. Like, the guys who we've worked with and been successful with have done. Often, two, is just let that get in the way.
Accept that you're just not really serious about honoring your body and move on. Is that something you'll absolutely have to do forever? No. We'll be giving you mental frameworks and teaching you the skill set of being able to maintain your weight loss without having to track for it.
However, it is required when you engage those hands on.
Do I Need A Gym Membership?
You don't need to get a gym membership if you don't want to. Again, our goal is sustainability. So for some people, that's actually helpful.
If on this assessment, we determine that for you, it makes sense to have a gym membership, of course, we'll advise you to do so if you don't have one already. If you're working out at home, you don't need any equipment to be able to do this. About half of our guys work out at home anyway, and we'll custom tailor every workout to the equipment that you do have access to. If you have nothing, of course, again, not totally necessary.
Audio workouts come in handy, especially when guys travel a lot, and they're in and out of hotel rooms. But to be frank, if you don't have any equipment whatsoever, we will advise you on the best use of your capital to invest into equipment to make your workouts more practical, simpler to do, and more scalable as you increase your strength. You're gonna be so freaking strong, so freaking jack that just banging out a set of hundred push ups just is not going to be an effective workout.
Do I Have to Have Training Experience?
You don't need to have any training experience.
Experience. Again, Joey and I are gonna coach you specifically on where you're at given your training experience, your training history. We've worked with guys who are in their sixties who have literally never done a deliberate workout before in their lives. We've also literally worked with peripheral trainers and physical therapists who have doctor degrees in exercise science and decades of high level experience actually coaching people in physical training themselves.
So, again, wherever we are at, we're gonna be supporting you and teaching you and how to make the best use of your time and energy investment with your workouts so that you can get the best possible tangible results. Because seeing those tangible results is going to reinforce the identity of the fit and healthy and disciplined man that god made you to be.
Do I Have to Buy Supplements or Meal Subscription Services?
We're not gonna ask you to buy weird supplements or subscribe to specific meals or anything like that. There's not chemistry project level recipes that you'll have to put together.
We're entrepreneurs. We have families. Of course, we wanna coach you on what's effective, but also what is as enjoyable and sustainable and, honestly, as convenient. The idea of a thirty minute meal is personally insulting to me.
It is only a short amount of time to be preparing a meal in the middle of a workday. Even if you have literally no time to cook, we can work with you or even your personal assistant on making sure that you have the right meals prepared so that's seamless for you to lose the fat though the muscles stay full in the process while enjoying what you're eating.
Non-Negotiable Character Traits
Now the one thing that I will say is absolutely without question required as a character trait when you decide to work with us is honesty, humility, and communication. We've worked with guys who are ten pounds overweight and wanna see their abs.
We've also worked with guys who are four hundred plus pounds. And the level of success between those individuals honestly has nothing to do with the exact amount of pounds that they need to lose. And, again, quite frankly, has nothing to do with their circumstances or their stressors or what their life looks like at the moment. We've had guys that run multiple businesses at a high low who have five plus kids who are involved in their church and community as leaders, who have all the trauma and all the shame and all the messed up past with weight loss and weight gain.
We've had guys who have invested tens of thousands of dollars into other programs that haven't been successful before. We've had guys who are as stubborn as stubborn comes. We should've had guys who, quite frankly, don't even really know if they fully trust us to help them even after they sign up. We've had guys in all of those situations be successful.
It's important that your circumstance has nothing to do with your chances for success in Evoking. Our belief is that when god asks you to honor your bodies, he gives you the power to do that while stewarding everything else. Any other belief is insulting to the god of the universe. Now that being said, if you cannot be honest with us, we cannot help you.
If you cannot communicate with us, we cannot help you. And if you are not humble enough to receive teaching, we cannot help you. We do not need you to be perfect. We actually expect that you won't be perfect.
Joey and I argued perfect in our health and fitness. But if you do go off track, we just need to know so that we can both talk through and help you break past the mental barriers that led you to going off track, but also to be able to game plan, getting you back on track for you to the best of those core results. When you have travel coming up, communicate it. When you have questions, communicate.
One of the great gifts is just committing to honoring your bodies, and nobody else can do it for you. So, no, we're not gonna lift the weights for you. And we have no control on if you decide personally to go eat an entire pizza every single night. That is on you.
But if you communicate that, we can support you. So we need honesty, communication, and humility from you. That's it.
What If I'm Busy? Or Travel Frequently
Can I Still Do This?
I'm busy or I travel a lot. Can I still do this? First off, yes. We're gonna support you with game plans, accountability, and decision making frameworks that allow you to stay on track whether you're traveling for or leisure.
No. It is not going to be bringing Tupperwares of chicken and broccoli to restaurants. Having to bring a lunchbox to the networking event. Joey and I are business owners ourselves.
We love traveling with our incredible lives, and we designed this for business owners and high level professionals. The people who are traveling more frequently than the average person anyway, both for leisure and for business. And and so no matter how frequently you travel or how busy you are, yes, you can do this. You'll have guidelines for what to pick if you need to grab something at a gas station, guidelines for what to eat if you're at an airport, guidelines for what to eat when you're at restaurants, guidelines for what to eat when you're not in complete control of the food at events, and workout game plans to fit those scenarios too.
Time Commitment to See Results
Now, in terms of overall time commitment, like with Teflon in the what's required of your video, you'll be working out anywhere between three to four times a week most likely. Those workouts will be somewhere between thirty minutes to an hour. Some people work out more, and it's possible to work out less. Again, this is all totally accustomed to what you need, what's sustainable for you.
Managing your nutrition is going to require thirty seconds to two minutes when you're sitting down to eat a meal, so that you can track that meal on our app. Any coaching calls with us will be prescheduled, you can put them in your calendar ahead of time. And then for group coaching calls, you'll have access to our calendar so you can see which calls make the most sense for you to attend when you need support, and you can subscribe to that calendar as well to be automatically reminded of when those calls take place. And I know it's all pretty straightforward, but I know if you clicked on this video, there's probably still that little voice in the back of your head saying Gabe, I get it but you just don't understand.
I've got ten kids and I've got ten businesses and you have no idea what's going on in my life right now. I am just way too busy to even consider prioritizing my health and that is a complete lie. I can explain away for ten more minutes how we're gonna make sure that this is as effective as humanly possible in the most time efficient manner for you. From the intensity training that we use, so you get more out of the workouts without having to work out for two hours a day.
To how we simplify the nutrition tracking so you're not there having to calculate every little macro. To the systems we have in place for you to learn what you need to learn even when you can't make the call.
The Lie From The Enemy
But again, I know that that voice is still there no matter what you have going on. For some reason, you still think I just don't understand.
And that's a lie. That is one of the most common lies that the enemy uses to sabotage, to trick the men in the kingdom of God from thinking they're incapable of honoring their bodies. I know this sounds dramatic, but these limiting beliefs and these lies that you absolutely believe have gotten you here watching this video, needing help with this. And so I'm just gonna tell you straight up.
You know that you make time for what you prioritize. You know that it's as simple as putting it in your calendar. You know deep down that the problem isn't that you don't have the time, but that there has been a mindset issue that has prevented you from making the time or prioritizing the time. And again, with this entire system, it's designed for entrepreneurs going to make sure this gets done and it's time efficient of a way as humanly possible because there's no wisdom in wasting time.
What The Bible Says
But ultimately, we believe the bible more than we believe you're limiting beliefs or excuses. And the Bible asks us to honor our bodies. It doesn't say honor your body when things calm down. It doesn't say honor your body when you feel like things are convenient.
It doesn't say honor your body when you feel like you have a little bit more time. It doesn't say honor your body as long as there's nothing else kinda difficult going on in life right now. It doesn't say honor your body when you get back from vacation. It says honor your body.
And we choose to believe that more than we believe the lies that have gotten you stuck here.
The Options
And so we have two options. Option one is honestly, and I say this lovingly, just drop the excuses. Agree with us in that when God asks us to honor our body, he's making that request while empowering us to do that whilst doing everything else.
Look at all the entrepreneurs like Jeff Bezos who is jacked, who works out regularly and has abs, and like Ed Mylett who is more jacked than anyone ever needs to be. All these guys who more than likely have as much, if not more responsibility than you, who are making time to prioritize their health. Consider these guys. That voice creeps up in your head that you just don't have the time.
Now, if you just can't get yourself to that point while you watch this video, then I am so excited to work with you because we're gonna help you break past that mental block together. That's it.

Is The Diet Sustainable? Will I Enjoy It?
Is The Diet Sustainable? Will I Enjoy It?
Alright. Is the diet sustainable? Will you enjoy it? I've touched on this concept a few times in some of the other videos.
If you know anything about who we are, you can already infer that the entire focus of what we do is sustainability. Of course, we are gonna be working on discipline. We're gonna be working on overcoming stress eating. We're gonna be working on not overeating period.
That is going to require discipline. There will be moments where you feel hungry, and there will be moments where you have to say no to things that you otherwise would have said yes to in the past. But glory to God, those are the decisions that are going to strengthen your faith, that will require you to bring your faith into the decisions you make with what you eat, and that's what's gonna make this stick long term. So that in and of itself is why this is going to be sustainable.
This Is NOT a "Diet" or "Meal Plan"
Now practically speaking, what this means is this is not gonna be keto. This is not gonna be hardcore fasting. This is not gonna be the Daniel diet or fasting forty days or forty nights. This is not gonna be counting points.
This is not gonna be hyper restricting calories. In fact, this is not gonna be any diet, so to speak, that you can think of that has a name. There's also not going to be a prescribed meal plan that we give you, because meal plan might give you some ideas for sure, but meal plan might give you some ideas for sure, but it's ultimately going to break, and it's not sustainable long term. What happens when the meal plan doesn't account for the networking event or family dinner?
It's kind of funny because a few years ago, we had somebody in the group who maybe we shouldn't have let them in at the It's kind of funny because a few years ago we had somebody in the group who maybe we shouldn't have let them in in the first place, but they essentially demanded that we build them a meal plan. We told them no. We're not gonna build you a meal plan because that's not sustainable. And they insisted.
And so Joey, myself, and team had a conversation about what we should do. And we decided almost a little bit as a joke, but more so to educate this guy that we were gonna build him a meal plan. So we built this guy a meal plan. Gave it to him and he said, thank you.
He took that meal plan and of course within a few days, he came back to us saying, I shouldn't have even asked for this. It wasn't sustainable.
The Plan You Will Follow
So this will not be a diet and this will not be a meal plan. Instead, what we're gonna do is give you exact calorie and protein goals.
Those are the two metrics that matter most in stewarding your body. Those take care of one side of the coin where our goal is to obviously help you lose fat, build muscle, and get healthy. These are the metrics that matter when it comes to honoring the temple of God. Now, the other thing we're gonna do is teach you how to hit those calorie goals as sustainably as possible.
So we'll be giving you guidance on exactly how much of what foods to be eating. We'll be giving you recipes and dessert guides and snack guides and also personalized coaching on exactly how to hit your nutrition goals with the normal foods that you enjoy eating most of the time. So, yes, you can eat things like burgers. Yes, you can eat things like pizza.
Yes, you'll be able to have dinner with your families, and of course, there are gonna be some small changes that you make to what your plate looks like at the moment. But again, the goal is sustainability.
The Biblical Backing To This Approach
Our belief is, of course, that we need to honor our bodies, but we hold the belief here at default kings that God designed the human body perfectly, and that God gave us taste buds for a reason. When the Bible says whatever you eat or drink do it all for the glory of God, yes, that involves the discipline, but we believe that truly enjoying the process of honoring your body, being able to share a dessert with your family or your wife, being able to have a drink with your business partners or your friends.
We truly believe that enjoying food can glorify God. Food is not just fuel. It is fuel, but we also want you to enjoy the process.
Resources We Provide To Ensure Success
We'll also be giving you a grocery list as a reference point to make sure you're having the best things on hand at home that make it as simple as possible to lose the fat and gain the muscle.
We'll be giving you a restaurant guide so you have a reference point of how to be able to eat out and enjoy that dinner without having it completely throttle your progress. And if your wife handles the meals, we'll be giving you a recipe book that she can use as reference. And it's not something that she has to follow to the team. She definitely can if she wants.
But this is more so so she has an idea of what small adjustments she can make to the normal things that she's cooking to best support you in your goals. Lots of guys will hand these recipe books to her. The default king's recipe book has three hundred recipes, and it was actually put together by a professional chef named Chris Micklevane. Chris Micklevane has over two hundred thousand followers on Twitter, and we came to him with the goal of coming up with recipes that accomplished three major things.
Number one, recipes that made it simple for guys to lose fat and build muscle. Number two, recipes that were easy to prepare because we're entrepreneurs and we coach entrepreneurs. And number three, recipes that were freaking tasty. And so Chris took that and put together the default King's recipe book, which if you followed us on x for any amount of time, you probably see some pictures of those recipes.
Things like the default king's burger recipe, which all the vegans hate. Things like the default king's pizza recipe, which all the keto crowd hates. And we've got ice cream recipes, brownie recipes, chicken tender recipes, taco recipes, steak bowl recipes, really just any great food that you can think of. Again, goal here is effectiveness of course, but also sustainability.
That's the nutrition.
What Are The Workouts? Can I Do Them If I'm Injured?
What Are The Workouts?
Right. So what are the workouts? Workouts are gonna be totally custom to you. The goal is gonna be to be building lean muscle mass while you support fat loss.
Lean muscle mass is the most metabolically active fuel on your body. So this is actually the most time efficient thing to be focusing on when your goal is to lose fat and keep it off. It's also gonna have the biggest impact on your overall metabolic health, improves your blood markers, improves your heart health, improves your insulin sensitivity, which prevents type two diabetes and Alzheimer's long term. It also strengthens your bone density, improves your overall range of motion and flexibility, improves your posture, improves your back pain, and overall, it makes you look better so that the body you have can actually reflect your discipline and drive.
Can I Do Them If I'm Injured?
Now if you have an injury, you can still do them. If you have a surgery coming up, you can still do them. One of our guys reached Pena lost forty pounds in five point five months while working with us, and he had a kidney transplant surgery scheduled in the middle of his program. He signed up, let us know about the kidney transplant surgery ahead of time, and we were able to modify his exercise plan given the fact that on doctor's orders, he couldn't even lift weight six weeks.
Our Background In Rehabilitation
You'll also see a Joanne Icicle Therapy background really shine here if you're injured or have a surgery coming up. Before your workouts, we're gonna have these custom built movement prep routines. These will be physical therapy style exercises that strengthen your joints and prepare your body to handle the more intense lifting.
What If I Have Limiting Medical Conditions?
If you have a medical condition that limits your ability to push your body intensely, specifically anything relating to your cardiovascular health, and your doctors are telling you to not work out, again, that is something that we deal with regularly, we'll be modifying what you do as exercise.
So it won't be the same level of intensity as if you didn't have that limitation.
It'll still be something that's going to strengthen your body gradually based on where you're at. Even if you're recovering from one of those health situations or surgery, so long as you're not in complete bed rest, we can modify the exercise protocol to fit for you.
Do I Need A Gym?

Our Negative Reviews
Negative Feedback From Paying Customers
So what I'm gonna do in this video is share with you actual negative feedback that we've gotten from paying customers, people who have invested their money with us and left unhappy, and why that is and what they actually said. So peeling back the curtain here and just showing you straight up what did people say when they're unhappy with our service. The other thing I'm gonna be doing is just answering the question of are our reviews real. Okay?
So that one's a little bit easier. I'll talk about that first.
Are Our Positive Reviews Real?
Are our reviews real? Short answer is yes.
Our reviews are real. If you Google default Kings reviews, you're gonna find all of our reviews on verified reviews dot com. This is a platform that requires us to verify the identity of reviewers, which means that all the people who are leaving reviews here, actual customers who have invested their money with us. Now you are gonna see that we have five stars on average.
We have one four star review from Gary l. He says he enjoyed the program. Built consistency, positive habits that have become default actions. He would recommend the program for any man trying to lose weight, gain energy, be a better man for the people in his life.
And Gary, who is an awesome guy, loved working with Gary. He ended up going from two sixty two to two twenty three at the lowest and maintained this about two twenty ish, two twenty five ish range. And this is honestly more more impressive to me. This this consistency is keeping the weight off.
Right? But, yes, long story short, our reviews are all real. But keep in mind, again, since we are verifying the identity of all of the people who are leaving reviews, we're not sending out these review requests to people who had a negative experience with us. I mean, you know, we're not having somebody who goes through with it and says, hey, man.
You know, I absolutely hate you guys. You guys suck. Really hated my experience and and saying, dude, sweet man. Please leave us a review.
We've we've sent these review requests to people who we had a pretty good idea. We're gonna leave those reviews. So that is that.
Default Kings Public Negative Reviews
Next thing here is a negative feedback for Default Kings negative reviews.
So I just wanna, again, Google this, for you on your behalf. If you Google Default Kings Fitness negative reviews, it's gonna be really difficult to find public negative reviews, on us, which is which is pretty default king's fitness negative reviews. If we go AI mode, default king's fitness negative reviews, so it can kinda do the research, for us. It's gonna say based on provided search results, there's very little negative feedback directly available regarding default kings.
The vast majority of customer customer reviews, found are highly positive, highlighting aspects such as weight loss, all the stuff. Potential areas that could be perceived negatively by some based on reviews that highlight the positive aspects. It requires dedication and effort. One review, while positive, notes that it's a simple plan but requires individuals to put in the work.
This could be seen as a challenge by those seeing a quick fix. Christian centered approach, while highly praised by many of the programs explicitly Christian focus, might not align with everyone's beliefs or preferences, which totally makes sense. Important note, the search results do not include any Better Business Bureau complaints for Default Kings Fitness, but they do for another unrelated chain, Default Kings negative reviews. Even just to take this a step further just so you can really see.
And then I'm gonna share with you some actual negative reviews. We do have negative reviews just and then they'll be able to really find publicly. But if I say just gonna use the deep research tool. Run deep research.
Find me any and all negative feedback or reviews for default Kings Fitness LLC. Give me a hail report on what you find. I'm just gonna go ahead and click initiate here. I am a potential customer considering vesting fund for default Kings Fit Coaching and want to understand my risk as well as get back from customer engaged in okay.
Let's see here. I'm just gonna go ahead and pause the recording so that it does a deep research, and then we'll pop back on when the research is done. And then, once we do this deep research report, I'll actually show you some of those negative reviews because we do have some negative reviews. And I just wanna show them to you so you have full context, really, of, you know, what negative experience have been and people working with us.
But we'll let ChatCPT do the deep deep research project, and then we'll come back. Okay. That actually took way longer than I expected, but, understood. I'll gather any and all public available negative feedback, complaints, critical reviews about default kings, as well as gateway time, customer complaints on these forum discussions, and all relevant insights to inform your decision as a potential investor.
I'll return a detailed report summarizing any potential risks on this feedback. So negative feedback and complaints for Default Kings Fitness LLC and Joey O'Haim overview and context. Default Kings Fitness LLC is a faith based online fitness coaching company cofounded by Gabe Pluckus and Joey O'Haim. The user is considering investing in their coaching services and seeks due diligence on any negative feedback, complaints, or critical reviews about the company and the founders.
We research customer reviews on various platforms, Reddit, Trustpilot, Better Business Bureau, Google, etcetera, and any public comments. Summary and findings. Public available reviews of Default Kings are overwhelmingly positive with the company touting a four point nine out of five star. In a rating from dozens of client testimonials, negative feedback or complaints are scarce and appear to be isolated cases.
Below, we detail the findings for the company as a whole as well as the individuals Gabe and Joey, including critical comments.
Default Kings Fitness, LLC customer complaints and critical feedback. Positive reviews dominating Default Kings eighty plus client reviews. I'm just going to skip the positive. Okay.
So here is, one of the negative things. Lack of independent reviews. We found no listings on Trust or Better Business Bureau, specifically for Default Kings. The Facebook page shows no public reviews, and Google Maps does not have a profile if you're the company.
This means most available feedback comes from their own curated sources. Yep. Like we've covered before. All those reviews appear genuine.
They all use a verified review service. If reviews on independent consumer sites means that there is little external scrutiny visible, which is why I'm gonna show you the actual negative scrutiny from people who happen on the inside. This could be due to the company being relatively new or because clients simply haven't posted on these platforms. I'm gonna keep going here.
Isolated complaint recurring charges. One notable complaint uncovered was an isolated incident involving billing. On the legal advice q and a form twenty twenty, seventy six year old customer described paying for a diet and exercise program through Fitness Pay twenty four and then reading that it is a scam. She felt pressured into signing up for him and was alarmed to discover his recurring monthly charge, which she hadn't expected.
In a follow-up, it looks like they're called the default kings, indicating the program in question was default kings. She still helped to cancel the refund immediately. A lawyer advised her that the US law allows a three day cancellation window for such contracts and suggested she request a refund right away and then refused to dispute the charge with her credit card company. This case suggests a few potential issues, high pressure sales tactics and unclear billing terms, at least for that customer.
It's important to note that this appears to be one person's experience and was resolved through cancellation advice. We do not find other reports of billing disputes or scams associated with Default Kings, so this could be an outlier. However, it flags prospective clients should read the contract terms carefully. Default kings does offer a money back guarantee, but it is contingent on completing specific program tasks, and they reserve the right to enforce those conditions.
I guess that is interesting. To be quite frank with you, I don't remember what this case is. It seems like there must have been some confusion or miscommunication depending on how we ran the billing. I know it might be a little bit confusing that a seventy six year old woman worked with us.
Again, to be frank, I don't remember the details of this case from twenty twenty to twenty twenty five at the beginning of this recording. It's possible that we worked with a seventy six year old woman at some point. And, again, don't fully remember the details of this case, but seems like it was resolved, and that is why we want to be completely clear with how we handle billing. If you have any questions on how we handle billing now, please watch the financial investment and structure video so that there's no miscommunication or confusion on how we handle billing at default.
And, also, in terms of addressing the contracts with our refund policy, we do have a refund policy in place. If you want more details on refund requests that we've gotten, chargebacks and disputes that we've gotten, please watch the video that Joey covers. It's titled, what if this doesn't work for me? There's a lot here.
Ultimately, it says no recurring pattern of complaints. It does touch on initial skepticism before twenty twenty three. Some prospects literally asking, is this scam? Which, again, if you still think this is a scam, then please watch the is this a scam video.
Seems like that was mainly because of our online presence being limited, which we've been proactively fixing. But that we're increasing our visibility as well as putting out videos like the is this a scam video. High ticket coaching programs often use a certain sales tactics which can lead some feeling uneasy. There's no evidence this is a systemic problem at Default Kings, but potential customers should be prepared for a structured sales call and ensure they understand the financial commitment, whether it's one time fee or monthly billing.
So, again, all financial investment and structure is broken down in that video just for complete clarity. And to be totally frank with you, there have definitely been conversations that we've had with people who are inquiring about joining Default Kings, where myself or Joey have lovingly encouraged somebody to take action if we truly believe that that was the best thing to do for it. We've had some clients who do interviews with us live where after they've actually done the service with us, they've thanked us for the, quote, unquote, hard close. Obviously, every single conversation is different.
But if everything makes sense for you, you have all your questions answered, you want to move forward and implement with our company, and our team members genuinely feel like they can help you, then, of course, they're going to strongly encourage you to take action. Obviously, we have a self interest in you investing with our business, but, ultimately, that decision is totally you. That's fine. Okay.
Gabe Pluguez's Reputation & Feedback
Now going into, Gabe Flugay's reputation and feedback, mostly positives here.
Says here, that my social media presence online can sometimes attract skepticism due to my strong claims. For example, I have made a post saying that big shoe is scamming you, talking about the risks of not wearing the proper footwear. This is, however, this is more of a social media moment, than a serious complaint. Oh, man.
If they're offended by the big shoe post, then there's a lot more that you're gonna find out on my social media that can be potentially considered offensive by most of the population. So if you're concerned about that, please look me up on social media. If you if I hurt your feelings, we're probably just not gifted to work there. Credibility on the credit credibility.
On the credibility front, Gabe, Pluga's leverages social proof heavily. Lots of transformation stories. No evidence of personal, financial, or legal issues associated with Gabe. Media coverage of him is generally in the context of fitness entrepreneurship, podcasts with no negative slant.
Joey Yochheim's Reputation & Feedback
Joey Yohan, no direct, complaints with Joey. Review reviews frequently mention Joey in a positive context. Clients praise the conversation that sold them on the program. This is so good and so accurate.
Oh my gosh. Public presence. Joey's public persona is slightly less flashy than Gabe. He shares fitness tips and often tweets about disciplined faith and debunking fitness myths.
We do not see any public controversies around Joey. His content might be provocative in phrasing, but like games, aims to counter industry gimmicks with a more straightforward approach. Yeah. Yeah.
I'm a little bit more aggressive, Joey, on the social media side. Oh my gosh. This is so fun. A reputation outside of Clarence Lulz, Joey has been featured in entrepreneurial podcasts and articles highlighting Default King's growth, noting their revenue, number of clients that they've coached, and all, no negative feedback, specifically to Joey Yoheim, was found.
He appears to be well regarded by clients and maintains a professional image. Any potential negatives? High pressure sales associated with the business's overall approach rather than Joey personally. Joey's role in sales was highlighted by one reviews.
The client said skeptical at first, but after the conversation with Joey, it sold. Implying he was persuasive, but ultimately delivered all the promises. There's no pattern of complaints with him overselling or under delivering. That's great.
Yeah. That is great. So, yeah, totally, again, we're gonna strongly encourage you to make the best decision for you for sure. But, ultimately, in every interaction that we have, the goal is to serve you.
And then kind of going into summaries here. After thorough research, there is little evidence of widespread negative feedback or recurrent complaints against Default Kings LLC. Dave Blue is our Joe Yohan. The company's clients predominantly report positive experiences and results in no public patterns of issues like fraud, program failure, or misconduct was found.
The cautionary notes, be mindful of high energy sales approach and fully understand the terms. Watch the financial investment video and ask any questions that you have to us or our team for when you have a conversation with us, especially regarding payments and refunds before investing. And in case you did not watch Joey's What Happens If This Doesn't Work where he covers our refund policy in-depth, I'm just gonna share that with you here. Our refund policy says this.
At the conclusion of the service period listed in the agreement default kings offers a money back guarantee that includes a refund up to but not in excess of total agreed upon amount listed at the bottom of this document. If the client is not satisfied with the results, so long as they upheld the following list of client responsibilities, the client completes seventy five percent or more of prescribed workouts and completes seventy five percent of prescribed nutrition goals, complete all the video modules, and respond to Default King's representatives within forty eight hours throughout the entirety of the service period listed in this agreement.
So don't ghost us. Then do the work. Right? The signature, below confirms client's understanding that DK cannot guarantee success without the client's responsibilities being completed.
And if any responsibilities are not held, they're not eligible for a refund making this purchase final. So, again, we have that there, of course, to protect us from people who just sign up, wanna get information, don't actually do the program, and request a refund. Also, that does keep you accountable as the user. Then if you want any more details on our refund policy policy or stories of people who have actually requested refunds or charged back with us, please watch the what happens if this doesn't work video.
So as the isolated complaint skepticism and one refund request seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, overall, Default Kings and its founders maintain a strong reputation with a very high satisfaction rate reported by customers, and any potential risks appear to be usual ones inherent with expensive coaching programs. Financial commitment and personal effort required rather than any malicious practice.
Our Worst Reviews & Feedback From Customers
Alright. Now I actually wanna show you some negative, reviews that, ChatCBT wouldn't be able to find it, but but that, that I'll just show you honestly from experience I've had working with you.
So, here is one person who requested a refund from us. He actually messaged Joey. This is February sixth of twenty twenty five. Says, good morning, Joey.
While I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but based on my experience thus far, specifically the call today, I would like to request a refund and withdrawal from the program. I don't exactly feel welcome, and it is for that reason that I wish to request a refund. Now full transparency here, this was my fault. And what happened in this situation is this person was present on a bible study that I was leading.
And on that bible study, we opened up a really sensitive subject on how Christians should view homosexuality. Now at Default Kings, we believe the bible is the ultimate authority on our worldview, on our politics, obviously, on how we own our bodies, quite literally just every single decision that we make. And the Bible does make it clear that homosexuality is a sin. And although in that Bible study, the actual main subject at hand was correcting my own judgment against people who practice homosexuality and calling myself to a higher standard of loving all people who struggle with any sin with the same love that Jesus would have for them, I did not back down from the fact that I do believe homosexuality is a sin.
And this customer was gay. And we can see he's posing, making a heart here in this profile picture with his partner, and he requested a refund. Now another example of somebody who did request a refund with us, was one of our clients, David. So David actually messaged us right at the end of his program.
He said, gentlemen, Gabe, Joey, and Alex, I'm questioning my ability to continue this program. Don't get me wrong. It's fantastic, life changing, but my core belief system doesn't seem to align with yours. Gabe spoke in one session about how it's a group of men with wide backgrounds and thought beliefs.
But as someone who has family and some best friends who are LGBTQ and who I support fully, my beliefs don't align with yours. And that's okay. I didn't really think it would be a problem, but as Gabe shared on Twitter this weekend, you specifically don't do business with something about blue hair woke individuals. It made me realize it's twenty three.
Yeah. I was aggressive on Twitter. It made me realize that it's time I look I took an actual stand. Ironically, it's the lessons for DK that have helped me understand this and that for far too long, all I have done is stand by and vote my conscious privately, occasionally, like a Facebook post or a Twitter post, and maybe share something occasionally.
As we've been talking about having and creating those deep conversations, it's my friends who are gay or lesbian where those deep conversations actually happen, where we can say, I love you to each other and weirdly enough, not be gay. I had a long conversation with my pastor about this, two, actually, between Sunday and yesterday. And the way we study and interpret the Bible, its teachings different from you and how you study and interpret it. And that's okay.
We should be able to have differences of opinions and beliefs, but the manner of how you chose to run your business and do business with, I can't overlook that part because I feel as if you were speaking directly at me. There are so many core principles that you teach that while are common sense are clearly difficult to follow otherwise, there would be no need for decay. Call it blue haired liberalism or woke or whatever, but for me, love is love. And it took joining D.
Va Kings to actually have the spine, to actually do or say something, which is the irony of ironies. So, yeah, a really, really interesting message that we got from David and, you know, sharing that he he learned to to have confidence, to stand up for what he believed, and a lot of that came from, you know, his work with us. And David, again, see here, I have to go back in the timeline for what's happened. But he actually ended up going from two twenty eight, to two sixty in his twelve weeks working with us, which is awesome.
But I think it's actually a great moment for me to just get a bit more personal with you guys and share that really every single thing we do. Even the call to honor our bodies, how we run our business comes from wanting to live in alignment with who God created us to be. And I personally do think it is extremely difficult to read the Bible and not view homosexuality as a sin. The same way I think it's extremely difficult to read the Bible and not see gluttony or sloth as a sin.
And so I'm going to call that out when necessary. And is it a hundred percent possible that maybe I haven't communicated these things lovingly in the best way or even in the way that Jesus would have, and maybe come across as judgmental?
Maybe maybe definitely with, some language using that Twitter post where I was saying we don't do business with, blue haired, you know, woke liberals. Yeah. That's a hundred percent possible. That's that is something that, I'm continuing to learn more and more about, you know, as I walk in my own journey with Christ.
To be frank, again, if it is a deal breaker, for you that we believe the bible and we do believe homosexuality is a sin, then definitely not gonna make sense for us to work together. Quite frankly, one of the reasons I wanna get Christian men strong and healthy is so we can bring down the demonic systems of this world that are perverting and trying to mutilate our children, quite frankly. If you're asking me what I honestly believe, that's one of the reason why I wanna get you guys strong and healthy. I think the LGBTQ movement is destructive, and I absolutely do think, that needs to be burned to the ground.
I don't think it will because we've read Revelation, but I wanna strengthen Christian men so that this movement stops victimizing children. That is my personal belief. I also do believe that we need to love people who struggle with Austins, including people who struggle with gluttony and sloth. So that's possible.
That may communicate a bit harshly about my beliefs sometimes. Again, if that's too much of a deal breaker for you, you know, god bless you. Wish you the best. David decided to not continue working with us after his initial twelve week term, and, you know, I do wish him the best in all that he does.
Yeah. So that is that. I mean, if you got him this far, I'd imagine you're probably pretty aligned with my beliefs. And I imagine that, you know, it's not that much of a deal breaker, I guess.
But, honestly, if you're curious, you can look up the Bible study where I talked about this. It was in February twenty six twenty twenty five. And so we have that in our video model of Vault. You can look up that exact Bible study.
Make up your own opinions. There's one part of me that wants to say how my opinion on the LGBTQ movement has anything to do with health and fitness. I don't know. But, honestly, I do see it because, again, every single decision that we make, every word that we communicate to you, specifically from the context of honoring your body and stewarding the vehicle that God gave you, is gonna come from our belief system.
It's gonna come from us being Christians and viewing the word of God as the ultimate authority. And, so, yeah, I believe that the word of God should govern how we take care of our bodies and, also how we should do every single other thing in life. So, yeah, that is that. Our review is real and our actual negative reviews.
Hope this was insightful.
What If This Fails? How We Keep You Safe
What If This Doesn't Work For Me?
In this video we are answering the question of what if this doesn't work for me? What are the risks and what are the worst case scenarios for you if you decide to engage with our organization? We'll be covering directly what if this fails, what is our refund policy and our guarantee, do you still have to pay if you don't see results, and then ultimately we wanna educate you on the character traits of the people who have engaged with us and been unsuccessful. Now the person in our organization who has the closest touch on all of these details is Joey Johan. If that name does not sound familiar, make sure you watch the who we are video where I speak about Joey and all his awesomeness at length. Without further ado, I'm gonna turn it over to Joey.
Hey. What's going on? If you don't already know me, my name is Joey Johan. I'm other co owner of Default Kings alongside of Gabe, you are probably plenty well familiar with at this point.
He's tasked me with going over what happens if this fails and really just how we keep you safe as a consumer in the event that we are fit to work together and that you do decide to move forward with one of our service options.
Our Refund Policy
And the first and simplest place for me to start is just by covering our refund policy with you. And so I'm quite literally scrolling through the actual service delivery agreement template that we have. Again, in the event that we work together, we would, of course, be sending this to you.
And that is, of course, in place to obviously protect us as a business to make sure, you know, if you drop a dumbbell on your tail, you don't sue us. But, also, to protect you as a consumer and make sure that, hey. We have to hold up our end of the bargain as well. We have to deliver on the promises that we make you.
Now explicitly what the refund policy consists of. At the conclusion of the service period listed in this agreement, DK offers a money back guarantee that includes a refund up to, but not in excess of the total agreed upon amount listed at the bottom of this document if the client is not satisfied with their results so long as they held up the following list of client responsibilities, which is complete seventy five percent or more of prescribed workouts, complete seventy five percent of prescribed nutrition goals, complete all video modules, and respond to the DK, team and its representatives within forty eight hours throughout the entirety of the service period listed in this agreement.
The signature below confirms the client's understanding that DK cannot guarantee success without the client's responsibilities being completed. And if any of their responsibilities are not upheld, they are not eligible for a refund making this purchase final. So, essentially, what this is saying is just, hey. You are eligible for a one hundred percent refund at the end of the twelve week service period assuming that you also held up your end of the bargain.
Again, this guarantee is in place to protect you as a consumer, and that is under the assumption that you come in here and actually put your best foot forward and do your side of the work to make these results that we guarantee you happen. Right? We can't eat for you. We can't work out for you.
We can't be disciplined for you. We can't follow our instructions for you, but we can load the bases. Right? And as long as you hit the ball, it's very, very unlikely that you would ever even need to request that refund because we have so few people that are dissatisfied with the results.
What Is Our Refund / Dispute Rate?
Now that does, of course, happen, and what I'm gonna cover next is the actual refund slash dispute rate that we have by quite literally just logging into our payment processor and showing you in real time so you can see the actual, like, statistical probability that you would go through a service period with us and be dissatisfied just based on looking at our historical data on that. So let's switch to that now. Alright. For whatever reason, you are not able to see my face now in this dashboard, but that's alright.
I'll walk you through it nonetheless. I just want you to be able see that this is actually an active dashboard. Right? It's not like a screenshot that I just made up.
And, of course, I'm gonna have an editor come in here and make sure they're blurring out customer information. We obviously don't wanna dock people's private info. It's not what we're about. Now just looking at the dashboard again, this is the dashboard that we used the first three to four years that we were in business, and we've since opened a new one.
So I'm gonna walk you through this first one, Then we'll walk you through the second one, and I'm gonna give you a cumulative overview of our total refund and dispute rate, across the entire time we've been operating this company. So just looking at this first dashboard, see three thousand seventy two transactions, eighty one refunded, seventeen disputed. Just do some quick math there. We do eighty one plus seventeen.
That works out to ninety eight. Divide that by three thousand and seventy two. Multiply it by a hundred, comes out to three point one nine percent. Refund and dispute rate are first, three to four years in business.
And now just popping over to our next one. So looking into our most up to date dashboard, the one we've been using the last one to two years. Again, same situation. I'm gonna have to blur some customer information here.
Again, don't wanna docs people's private info. But, again, just scrolling around so you can see this is a live dashboard. This is not me, like, doing a screenshot. It's actually our account.
K. If we just look at total transactions, eleven twenty seven. Refund, six. Disputes, six. Quick math.
Six plus six is twelve. Twelve divided by eleven twenty seven times a hundred one point zero six percent refund or dispute rate in the last one to two years. And these are kind of unfortunate for business owner perspective, but, ultimately, it's on us.
One in particular is quite, frustrating, that impacts our dispute rate and refund rate, is this is before we were doing a good enough job communicating the actual service term that people were agreeing to. So we had a situation here where a customer opted for a payment plan for fixed term period. They understood that as a subscription. And so, they actually got a few days, few weeks into the service and attempted to cancel the service. But at the end of the day, it's a fixed term that they agreed to, and this is a payment plan, not a subscription, or at least for this initial engagement with this client that we had. And so when they canceled service, totally okay. However, the total agreed upon amount is still owed, and so these continue to be charged, which the customer thought they were being charged for a subscription.
So the the situation there is they went ahead and obviously issued a chargeback with their bank, which, of course, we lost because we didn't have that in good writing. And since then, we obviously updated our service agreements to say, hey. This is a fixed term and making sure that we're communicating on the front end. So that's a frustrating one because, technically, it's one dispute case, but it's registered as three separate disputes.
A little bit frustrating. But that's alright. It's ultimately on us. And then this one here is a little duplicate charge, which, again, ultimately on us.
Very unfortunate situation. This customer's card was charged twice, for a payment plan. The the reason that we won the dispute is because they just contacted their bank and withdrew the dispute because we had already refunded them. Right?
So, you know, little bit of a frustrating situation there, but it is what it is. Right? And then if we pop over to, refunds here, six total, but four of them came pretty recently. At the time of this recording, it's July eleventh.
The last two to three months, we've been trying a little low ticket, product on the front side.
And, one thing that we're offering there is a sixty day, no questions asked money back guarantee. And early in the days of running this, we were still figuring out the actual marketing automations and making sure people were getting access as fast as possible, and some people were having issues accessing their accounts. And so, rightfully so, they were frustrated and just simply asked for a refund, right, which, you know, it is what it is. That's on us. So we refunded these no questions asked, which, of course, you know, four of the six.
It's unfortunate because this, assessment and, obviously, the conversation that you'd be booking to have with us is not about a low ticket product that we have. It's about our actual services or our coaching services, not our actual little low ticket products like this. So a little bit frustrating to see these numbers because, obviously, that one percent could be a whole lot lower these last one to two years, but it is what it is. Ultimately, it's on us.
We take full ownership for that. You know, it's a situation that we could have prevented. But, hey, we learned. These two situations here, this one, again, this is one of these cases where a guy came through, not satisfied with the results, ultimately requested a refund and was, granted that.
Right? So it is what it is. This is a situation guy put down a deposit to get started in the program. Hey.
Put down a hundred dollars. If we decide to move forward, we'll apply it to your total. If you decide not to, we'll just refund it. No questions asked.
And ended up not moving forward, so we just refunded it. So not an issue at all. But that is the overview in terms of our last you know, what does that work out to? Between four and six years of payment processing history.
And just to do total math for you, if we look at all transactions, all time, four thousand one hundred and ninety nine, we look at total disputes, and refunds over time, it's a hundred and ten. So let's do a hundred and ten divided by forty one ninety nine times a hundred, all time risk, refund and dispute rate of two point six one percent.
Our Expectations Of You In Order To See Success
Now if you're doing any sort of data analysis here, you can see that our actual refund and dispute rate is trending down the last one to two years of business con compared to our first three to four years of business. And really the explanation for that is we've simply become more and more aware of how we need to communicate our expectations of you as a client coming into an agreement to work with us inside of our services.
And really what that looks like is, hey, there's an element of work that has to be done here on your side. We used to just throw the guarantee out there because we knew our stuff was good. But then the longer we are in business, the more we realized, hey, we can't work out for these people. We can't eat for them.
We can't be disciplined for them and we're giving them all the stuff. But if they don't do the work, it ain't gonna work. And so we've just become very, very clear about our expectations of you. And quite frankly, we feel like they're pretty bare minimum.
We don't even require that you do a hundred percent of the work. We just require that you do seventy five percent of the work, which we feel is more than fair when it comes to what we expect of you. And then as well, just being communicative throughout the process as you saw responding to us. And in the event that, again, you come in and you do seventy five percent or more of the workouts of the nutrition, you stay responsive to us throughout the process.
And you go through the entire service period and you get to the end of it and you truly feel that you are unhappy with the results or with the service that was provided to you, we're more than happy to send that refund back to you. And as you saw, when I went over our payment processor, there are cases where that happens. Right? Not every single guy comes in and crushes it.
Right? You know, we wish that was the case, but the reality is there is a small percentage of people, two point six one percent to be exact, that come through and ask for their money back at the end. And so that is a part of it.
Right? But at the end of the day, assuming you come in here and you bust your butt and you're communicative, it is a very, very rare situation that would occur for you to not be satisfied with what we do here and the results that you get on the end of it.
DISCLAIMER: Must Watch
Now, I will end this video with a disclaimer. And that disclaimer is if you are watching this and you're like, man, this is the thing that's really pushing me over the edge. You know, these guys have a money back guarantee and I'm gonna go through and do this. And worst case scenario, if it doesn't work, I'll just ask for my money back. I know they'll give it to me.
Please, please, please do not enter into agreement to work with us if your mindset coming into it is that you have a built in safety net. If you are comparing us to other solutions or other services and this is the thing that's really pushing you over the line, we do not want that to be the thing that pushes you over the line. This money back guarantee is not in place as a a sales tactic or a marketing tactic that's designed to be a needle mover and us pushing a deal forward. It's just there to protect you as a consumer in the event that you go through this and you're unsatisfied with it because it would be unethical for us to keep money from people who are unsatisfied with what we do, at least in our opinion.
So if that is the thing that's pushing you over the edge, we're actually kinda gonna push you away and say, hey, probably just look elsewhere because I promise you that built in safety net mindset will be something that will plague your effort throughout the program. It will plague your willingness to do the work throughout the time that we are partnered up to get you results. So, again, please don't let this be the thing that pushes you over the line. We did wanna make it very clear and just let you know that it is there to protect you as a consumer, it is not designed to be something that pushes a deal forward in our marketing and sales process.
We want you to come into this with the mindset of, hey, I'm committed to this. I'm going to make it work. They're going to load the bases for me, and I'm gonna hit a grand slam. And that is what, as you see, the majority of the time, the vast vast majority of the time happens.
But in the event that it doesn't, we of course do have that in place for you. But please do not let it be the thing that pushes you over the line and convinces you that we are the solution for you. I assure you there's plenty of other reasons, to work with us outside of us having a money back guarantee in place. But other than that, hope that provides you clarity.
If there's still questions, obviously, reach out to the person that you're gonna be speaking with, about our services, or reach out to us directly at info at default kings dot
A Wife's Honest Perspective
Introduction to the Interview
Sup? So in this video, what you're gonna see is an actual interview that we conducted with one of our clients, Scott Fenton, and his wife, Denise, actually. The purpose of this interview is to see what a wife's just honest perspective was on her husband going through the default kings process. And in this video, they talked about the challenges they faced, and they also talked about how what we taught them helped them overcome those challenges.
So this video is a little bit different than all the rest on this page in the sense that it's not just me giving you the direct information. We actually thought it best for the purpose of this video to share an interview so that you're hearing it directly from the wife of one of the men that we worked with. And so feel free to watch this for context on what a wife's perspective was after her husband going through the process. Scott and Denise also do go into some of the practical strategy that they actually implemented.
So this video will also be educational and quite literally provide some information that would empower you to be more successful if you do decide to engage with us. And also feel free to share this with your wife. It'll both provide her some context information that'll support her in empowering you through this process. And also will give her confidence in what you decide to commit to if you decide to engage with us.
Without further ado, enjoy the interview. Alright. Today, I am sitting here with my client and friend Scott Fenton and his incredible wife Denise. Scott's gone from two forty five to two zero nine since May fourteenth, which is May, June, July, not even three months ago.
But honestly, Scott's story is more than just weight loss story. It's story about commitment. It's a story about overcoming doubt. It's a story about taking action in faith after past failures. And I'm sitting here with Denise because they have experienced some incredible blessings on the other side of good health. So Scott, Denise, thanks for being here with me.
Thank you. Thanks for having us.
Yeah, awesome. So Scott, I'll start with you, man. Before engaging with us, what were some of the things that you had tried before? What was your mindset when you were sitting at the two fifty four or two forty five pound mark?
I actually was at two eighty at one time in in two thousand nineteen. And then I tried a a, I went to a health doctor, and, he gave me laser around the belly. So I would do that two two times a week.
And he gave me like a menu that which was weighed out by the palm of your hand and certain foods not to eat. And I lost I went down to two ten pounds doing that.
That's without exercise. That's also without, it's an easy way to do it, but I decided to stop doing that. And I went back to my old habits really fast.
And within the next three years, I was back to two forty, two forty five. Then I topped out at two fifty. I'm I'm trying to do that same program again without the laser. I kind of worked for like a week.
I did a lot of fasting in the morning. And I knew I needed more help. I'm watching my wife work out. She's a lot stronger than I am.
Can lift a lot more weights than I can, and she's showing off every now and then. I'm like, yeah. She goes, you should come with me. I'm like, no.
I'm not gonna go there. That's not gonna happen. And then I, you know, I saw Joey on Twitter. Mhmm.
And I I I liked one of his videos, and he didn't give up on me. So that that was the key. And then I pulled the trigger, and then then I became part of this program here. And that's what I was trying, was trying everything under the sun except the right things.
Gotcha.
A Wife's Perspective on Her Husband's Program
Yeah. Awesome. I appreciate you gave us some background context there because I think that's relatable to majority of people who are struggling with their weight and their health in some way, shape or form. So for you Denise, when Scott told you what he was thinking about this program, what was your gut reaction? Was there any skepticism or doubt? What did that conversation go like?
Well, I had some questions because, obviously, he had done, you know, a program back in two thousand nineteen, and I knew at that time that the it probably wasn't gonna be sustainable. Like, I really wanted it to be successful for him, and I was really proud of him that he lost all that weight. But I knew that he couldn't sustain that eating forever. You know, it was a lot of shakes, some drops, you know, a lot of vegetables, not a lot of protein.
So I knew that wouldn't be sustainable for him. And so when he started putting it back on and he started explaining, you know, your program, I was like, okay. This sounds like this is something that you could be successful at.
And I'd been eating, you know, macro based watching my, you know, high protein, low carbs, low fat for the past year, and I had stopped tracking it.
And so when he showed me, I was like, hey, that's the similar programs that I, you know, that I've been using. So I said it would be, you know, I thought he needed to learn it for himself, and so it was really helpful that he had the support from all of you to help him get on track that it wasn't me as the nagging wife, you know, telling him this is what you need to do because that didn't work so well.
You know, I'd say and now I just kinda go, oh my gosh. That's what I've been telling you for a year. But he learned it on his own, so he's internalized it. So it's something that he's committed to.
I've just really been proud of him. You know, gets up early every morning. Not only is he eating right and following the plan, but he's spending more time in the word, which, you know, as a Christian family has been really impactful.
He's always you know, being Christian, that's always been something, you know, going to church, but he's never sat in a room for, like, an hour in the word, you know, just really learning and watching your videos and just absorbing everything you can about it. So I've really been proud of that, and it's really helped, you know, our family in that we eat together, you know, so there's no, well, I I'm eating this and you're eating that, and it 's really kept us on the same page.
That's awesome.
We're more of a team now. Mhmm.
Rather than I I before I would I said she would have the food ready, and she she used to cook in the house. And then I would go eat something else afterwards because I thought I needed more. Plus, it was emotional, you know, emotional binge eating and and all that Mhmm. Came into play too.
But I didn't listen to her at all. I said, yeah. Okay. You know? And basically, we're we're a team now.
So Wow. Close.
And we still have a, you know, a we have a twenty year old daughter at home, you know, that's a hundred pounds, you know, and five eight. So she's you know, she can eat whatever. And so he would you know, we would finish eating and, like, two minutes later, he'd be back in the cabinet. And I'd be like, get out of that snack cabinet.
And he's like, no. I'm still hungry. You know? And now he he hasn't opened that cabinet in forever.
No. You know? And she still has her snacks and he's really, you know, focused. It's really helped him see, you know, what's in food and really reading labels, going grocery shopping with me.
You know? Like, that's always been kind of my thing that I've done. But now he's, you know, he's reading the labels. We're going together.
And so it's really, I think, brought us a little closer.
We spend more time together now because of that. And, we're we're we're going we're shuffling through the the grocery store, which is like walking through Babylon anyway because it's hard to find anything that's good. And when we do find something that's good, our eyes light up. Let's get it. Let let's go for it. I mean, cost isn't really the factor. It's it's the if if we want it, and it's that PCR, the the protein to calorie, ratio is important to us.
It's incredible.
More fun. More fun during the weekends.
That's awesome.
And he's going to the gym with me on the weekends?
On the weekends.
So he goes on Saturday and Sunday. He goes to the gym with me, and then we go and do our grocery shopping for the week. And then meal prep. So meal prep, know, is something I would like to do, you know, that I had done. But then when big time would get busy, we would, you know, have a weekend full, and then that wouldn't get done. And so then my diet would suffer because we didn't have time.
Mhmm.
But now that's a priority. So on Sundays, he'll cook on the Blackstone, and then I'll you know, we have our ten containers for lunches, and what we have for dinner on Sunday night, that's our lunch for the rest of the week. And so that's done.
So it's taken a lot of stress Mhmm.
Off, you know, what's gonna what are we gonna have for lunch, you know, because we've planned out the week. We sit down, you know, and and first, we were going over some of the recipes from Default Kings and planning those. And now it's like, okay. What do you want for dinner? And, you know, if I had made fish three times a week previously, he would have been, that's a lot of fish. But now he's like, okay. Bring on the fish.
Awesome. Oh my gosh. That's incredible, guys. I I'm just honestly, I'm blown away. These are all things, that I hear about, obviously, from the husbands that we work with.
The Impact of Health on Marriages
And Skye shared this with me and things that I can, you know, kind of assume are taking place, but I think Denise to hear from you is is particularly meaningful. That's incredible. So I have a few interesting questions for you guys, because for both of you, you've kind of brought up the dynamic of how health had been a priority and you had prioritized in other ways, you know, before you engage with default kings. It wasn't like the first time you ever thought about health.
Right?
But Scott, from your perspective, what was that experience like when your wife was prioritizing her health and almost trying to keep you on track, but it wasn't really landing?
What what did that feel like? And how did that change when you took ownership over it yourself?
Before before, basically, I would I would just let her do what she did, and I would do what I did. You know? If I was hungry, I would eat more.
I never complained about the dinner that's on the table. I'm I'm not cook I wasn't cooking it, so I ate it.
And but my perspective started to change when she started working out, and she started I didn't even know she was changing her diet. I just thought she was just working out.
And I didn't know she was counting her calories. I didn't know any of that. And she was just going, working out all the time, but worse than any. So I'm at the gym.
I'm at the gym. I'm the gym. I'm like, man, I'm home alone. What am I gonna do?
Snacks. So I took care of that time away from her by eating snacks, watching a lot of negative television also, which is what my time was spent doing, which I do not do that anymore. That's not even part of my life.
And then I guess the question you're asking is how it changed.
Yeah.
My weight getting heavier.
And I was always trying to find a way to lose weight on YouTube.
I would literally, you know, listen to YouTube videos to try to learn how to fast, learn how to do things that, you know, I wanted to do. But I I never really learned how to how to eat properly until I saw the the Bob Kings on Twitter. So and then it changed when I I saw the light. I saw the I saw the light when, I had to be I was being held accountable to to do a daily journal and to to look at my default actions, which is read the Bible daily and and pray and then write in a journal. I have a journal here that I write in every day, and then I do devotionals all day, all morning.
And that's when it changed, when I started to change my identity from being fat and okay with it and buying new shirts to deal with it.
And my identity changed from, you know, the fat pop up because I'm I'm a grandfather also to I've been remade. I've been transformed now. I've been remade to honor God and also to honor the body that he created for me. And that's where it changed right there. Then I became really devoted to the program, and I paid attention to what my wife was doing. We discussed a lot of things. I think she learned a lot from what some of our conversations were, because I was very anal in the beginning on weighing everything.
I'm weighing everything. And like, you know, if I ate ten grapes, I'm weighing ten grapes.
And she says, you don't have to weigh that. You don't have to weigh this. She was already at a point where she was eating without doing that. Mhmm.
But I think she learned a little bit where she needed to weigh some of her food too through that process. That little bit of a process we had. Then we learned then that's that's what it was. It was changing my identity is is the answer to that.
That's incredible.
That was incredible.
Curious from from your perspective, Denise, so many different ways that we can take this conversation. But what did you learn from observing what Scott was implementing? Obviously, the beginning, there's a little bit of ten grapes, know, wearing that, which I love that intention, by the way, Scott, just especially at the beginning, like I'm doing this correctly and stewarding the resources and placing it on my body.
But how have you guys kind of thought about and built systems to at least make it feel more simple over time? What does that look like on your end, Denise?
Planning for Success in Healthy Eating
I think the most important part is planning.
If if you don't plan, like, if, so we sit down over the weekend and say, okay. This is the schedule for the week. Like, I know I'm not gonna be home this night, so I make sure that there's enough for leftovers for him or he there's something for him to cook Mhmm. If I'm not gonna be home that evening.
But I think the planning is key. So before he was on that, you know, before he was on this journey, I would I didn't always plan, but now it's like, okay, there's something planned. And we've been, you know, when our kids were younger, it would be like, oh, you know, they're at baseball, they're at soccer, they're at dance, You know, I'm going to run through McDonald's. But I've discovered that it really doesn't take any longer to cook than it does to sit in line at McDonald's to create healthy meals.
So we have some that, you know, are a weekly thing that we eat, you know, and that just kind of rotates, and they're quick, you know, within thirty minutes. It's not like we're standing there, you know, at the stove. But Sunday, you know, evenings, it just works for us to plan what we're gonna have for the week. We have that for dinner, and then it's ready for the week.
We we even learned to plan if we go out to eat.
I mean, you have the restaurant guide in the default kings, which we've we've used that twice, I think, so far. But, I mean, we went to Cheesecake Factory, and we found they have a good menu there. And we found something to eat that night, which was high protein. Then we went to the movies, and we only had normally, I eat the whole bucket of popcorn, of course. Right?
No butter. I never had butter anyway. And I had, I think, a cup or two cups max.
And then I put that aside. But I had room for it.
Yeah.
And, we had a it was a date night. We went to went out to dinner, went to a movie. It was fine.
Well and like you said, in the past, we would have ordered a large popcorn, and it would have been gone before the movie started.
But we actually got a medium and brought over half of it home. Oh.
And I was like half dough.
Our daughter ate it.
Okay. Blame the okay.
Because I know I need on the counter, and the next day, I had put my hand back in it, and I was eating a little bit.
I'm like, okay. Either she wants this and she's gonna eat it, or it's going in the trash Yeah. Because I couldn't stay out of the next day.
But And it's it's okay to throw food away.
I found that out. You don't have to finish your whole plate.
That's that's that's funny. That first off, that's awesome that, you guys are able to bring that intention into date night And, yeah, you know, sometimes I'll I'll I I made a video once where I I went out to dinner at an Italian restaurant and ate, like, you know, just a small piece of the lasagna. And then I was like, I did finish it the next day, by the way, but it fit into my calorie goals.
So that's kind of funny.
Something I'm curious about on the date night front is food is such a common culturally set standard when it comes to just fun and celebration, especially on date nights. And it's so simple to say, hey, let's go on a date night. Where are we going to eat? What are we gonna eat? Oh, let's eat this thing. Let's eat that thing. Right?
So how have you guys found that change in culture even in your day nights where you're you're focusing more on just the date itself versus like indulging in food?
I think previously, we would I would try to say, let's share.
And he's like, that's not enough food for me. I'm gonna be hungry. And it's like, okay. It's not worth the fight. You know? I'll take half of it home, or I just won't get what I want. I'll, you know, get something different.
But now it's kinda like, okay. What what's what can we get that's a high protein?
You know? And what's the vegetables? And staying away from, you know, dressing on the side or, you know, getting a baked potato, having half of it with no butter, you know, or just light butter and just trying to make choices that way that are more being more conscious of what and mindful of what we're eating and not just ordering what's on the menu. We went to Cheesecake Factory.
I just they have that Skinnylicious, they call it, menu inside the regular menu. And I just pulled it out and I said, here, just use this menu. It'll be easier. He thought the other menu was the wine menu because I didn't he didn't look at it.
He just, like, just pulled it out and said, here's the menu. And there was so much to choose from there.
Wow. Yeah.
And then he went to the app and was like, okay, here's what, you know, I'm gonna have. And I was like, that's a really good choice. That's what I'm gonna have too. That's great.
Intentional Meal Planning for Couples
That is so good. Scott, I'm curious to from your perspective on this, I can imagine either husband or wife listening to this who aren't, you know, haven't built the same culture that you guys have have built.
And they might be thinking like, that sounds awfully intentional, like planning my meals, even though we plan every other area of life.
So Scott, what would you say to somebody who's thinking that sounds awfully intentional and that sounds like too much. I don't want to do it. What would you say to them?
Well, it is intentional.
It's something that if they want to lose weight and if they want to do it as a husband and wife, they need to be intentional for each other.
They have to have respect for each other's fitness goals and or, you know, food choices and work as a team to to make both parties happy. It's a happy marriage that way. I mean, it is intentional.
That's incredible.
Gabe, I think you hit it on the you know, you said we're intentional in everything else. We plan everything else in our lives. You know, it doesn't take a lot of time.
It probably takes maybe twenty minutes for us to say this is what we're gonna have this week, you know, and then making the menu for the week, you know, and just making a grocery list. And then you stick to that grocery list, you know, with a pen and crossing things off as you, you know, as you're going through the grocery store, and you just get what's on the list.
You know, a really easy way, like, during the school year, because I'm a principal. So the last couple months have been easy. But now we'll use, like, you know, the drive up, you know, order online and drive up and pick it up. And that makes that saves money and makes things a lot easier.
That's incredible.
I think with some some, relationships that maybe, go out to eat a lot more than than we do or are always traveling, that's something that they have to figure out.
You have to shuffle through their menus. You have to shuffle through the restaurants you want to you want to that you're choosing to go to. If you have to eat a Caesar salad with extra chicken with dressing on the side a couple nights in a row, then just do it. That's all. Because you'll lose the weight. You'll stay within your protein.
You have to make a choice that sometimes isn't the best for a meal that you had the day before, but just do it anyway.
Yeah.
Overcoming Sticking Points in Healthy Eating
This is one I'm very curious about because I witnessed this myself, of course, and how I think through it. But even with the planning and intentionality and the knowledge that you have and you develop over time as you're managing your health, there's still some moments where I like to call them like a sticky situation where it's like, Oh, I don't know what to do here. I've got kind of a weird goal to hit with my protein and calories. And there's some like it's not exactly obvious what I'm going to choose to eat right now in this moment. Plus there's sometimes emotions involved versus the end of the day or you're with other people and it's just like you find yourself that sticking point. So how have you guys come together to break through those sticking points where maybe it's one of you guys or the other or maybe it's just, you know, overall where it's like if if it doesn't feel easy, how have you guys broken through that?
Use the app one day when we get a flat tire on our way to a birthday party on our way to Costa Mesa. And we went to an America's Tire, and there was a Starbucks right next door. And there was a good breakfast there to eat that was on your app. That was DK approved. And we were in a sticky situation because we were hungry, and we were gonna be late for the party, which was full of pizza and other stuff anyway, but and cake. But that's that's one sticky situation I can think of. How about you, Denise?
I don't I think we think through, like, when we're gonna be out of town or, like, my purse used to have candy in it, you know, like, different things, you know, different snacks, granola bars.
Now my purse is full of beef sticks. Yeah.
I knew that was coming.
Yeah. I'll reach in. Oh, that's not a pen. That's a beef stick. So, like, we're just more mindful.
Know, we have the protein bars at home. We don't eat them every day, but if, you know, I know I'm gonna be off out, and about, and I might get hungry, you know, grabbing one of those.
Like I said, sometimes they're smashed, so the beef sticks travel really well. So there's always beef sticks in my purse.
And I think, like, when we're going on a day trip, we'll plan, like, bring a couple apples, edamame. The dried edamame is a good one to carry. We have, you know, the Quest chips in the cabinet.
Just those snack video, by the way.
We watched that together.
Amazing. I I I was like, this sounds like my wife's purse.
So it's it's just being prepared. You know? Like, when we went on our cruise a month ago, we took the samples of protein powder so that if we knew there was a time we didn't get enough protein, we had the protein shake to fall back on.
And so just being prepared. And just like you wouldn't leave without gas or making sure your tires and your oil was well, you want to make sure you're able to fuel your body. So we're in the desert, so I never go anywhere without water.
So now I always make sure I have good snacks too that'll keep me on track because it's easy to stop at a Starbucks. But I think, you know, in the year that I've been doing this, there's certain places that we know that I that we go. Like, we have season tickets to a to our local hockey team. Mhmm. So that's, like, one or two nights a week we'll eat out during hockey season.
Mhmm.
We know Chick fil A has really good choices.
Mhmm.
So, you know, we'll go to Chick fil A. Mhmm.
We, you know, got choices at the habit. You know, try to stay away from, you know, some of the more fast foods that don't have better choices.
Yeah.
But we've just kind of planned, you know, and as we're learning, you know, but we have, you know I can remember a year ago when I was, you know, trying to like, I need more protein running around trying to find a chicken sandwich on a Sunday night, you know, with no bread. Yeah.
Yeah.
And and so now we're more prepared, you know, like I said, with beef sticks, protein drinks, just have snacks with us.
That's great. That is how that's how we get out of sticky situations as well. Yes. That's great. Okay. I wanna wrap this up, guys.
The Role of Faith in Health Transformation
I think the the biggest thing that I'm number one that I'm I'm blown away by and also even more deeply curious about from both of your perspectives is how you guys mentioned at the beginning and for you for you, Scott, how this process has changed your relationship with God and your time with God. And obviously, I I point to that as the source of all the transformation. I know we come in with the practical knowledge.
But ultimately, like, it is is the word. It is a living, breathing word of God that transforms us, that redeems us.
So I'm curious from both of your perspectives. We'll start with you, Scott. How have you noticed that bringing your faith into this process has blessed your family overall?
Well, we're we're a lot closer. We spend a lot more time together, but through this process. Even though in the morning, I'm kinda like I'm not ignoring her in the morning, but she's doing her bible study, and I'm doing mine.
Then we go to work.
I'm thinking about everything that I do now, I'm asking God.
And if I'm doing something where I didn't ask God and I question it, God will remind me what to do, which way to turn, whether to speak or not to speak, whether to get angry or not to get angry.
I'm a lot less angry through this process because I've dedicated more time to reading the Bible and understanding all the all the all the things about faith that that you have to have. Every day, I I'm in my war room right now. This is I have verses all on on the wall here. Mhmm. I mean, basically, as one Corinthians ten thirty one, it's so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
So whatever you do is anything other than eat or drink. It's whatever you do, do it for the glory of God.
Wow.
So that's how and the family, I think my wife can see that now.
My son's noticed it. He he watched the other interview that we did. He was very happy for that, and I'm a different person now.
Wow. God is good, man.
God is good.
God is good. Denise, what's been your perspective on that?
I think, you know what, like Scott said, I've, you know, been doing this, you know, for over a year, and it just has really brought us closer together.
Like he said, in the mornings, we each have our own separate devotional time that, you know, I stay in our bedroom, and I read, you know, get my coffee and read the Bible every morning. He goes into, you know, our spare bedroom and does his devotional and his time.
And it just kind of starts our day off with God. It just changes your perspective of your day.
It's brought us closer. You know, I do definitely see a difference because in the past, he would get up and just watch a lot of negative TV, and it would start I could see him getting angry, you know, and arguing with the TV and what's, you know, going on in the world or, you know, whatever it was that he was watching. And he doesn't do that now because, you know, it's always a give and take where there's only so many hours in the day. And it's how we choose to spend our time that is where, you know, you get your, you know, your information, you get, you know, impacts you. It impacts you. Whether, you know, if you're on technology all the time, there's always a positive and negative. There's always a cause and effect for everything.
Right.
And so I think he's starting to spend his time, or he's been spending his time over these past twelve weeks refocusing on positive versus the negative constantly bombarding him.
And like I said at the beginning, it's you know, I could tell him, you know, Why are you watching that? This will you know, it's making you angry. Why don't you turn it off? But he really had to come to it on his own.
And, you know, we can you know, we all wanna hear, you know, and we don't wanna be told what to do, and we need to find our own path to certain things. And this has been just a real blessing for not only Scott, but for our family as well. Like you said, our sons noticed a difference.
Our daughters noticed a difference.
It just really is has impacted our lives in a positive way.
We're at a different stage of life where we have, you know, of our three children, two of them are out of the house, and so we just have the one at home.
And so we have more time to be intentional and plan together. But it really doesn't take that long. It's just getting that system in place in your household. And it has caused a lot, you know, once it's planned out, it's done for the week. So if you have a hard day on a Wednesday, you don't have to worry about what's for dinner. Everything's there and ready to go.
You know, we had done, you know, in the past some of those meal services, you know, that everything's there, and that helps, but a lot of times those are high in fat and not the best choices. So, you know, having things in the freezer and just, like I said, probably takes us a half hour max to plan breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the week and talk about it. You know, sometimes if he's working or I'm working or he's on a walk or working out, and I'm like, okay. We're gonna go to the grocery store this afternoon, or I'm gonna go to the grocery store. You know, I'll just make the list and say, how does this sound for lunch and dinners? You know? So it may take me fifteen minutes.
Okay.
It's really just setting a time of the week to set down and be intentional. Just like, you know, we're intentional with everything else in our lives, but we try tend to not prioritize ourselves.
Encouragement for Couples Starting Their Journey
Wow.
That's awesome. So parting words for you guys here. What what would what would you guys say to, a husband and wife who are considering implementing with with us in their husband's life and they're kind of on the fence, maybe they've tried and failed before, maybe it hasn't been prioritized before.
What would you guys say to them as to why they should they should take action?
I mean, it's brought us closer.
I think, you know, I prioritize myself. I wanna be there for our I wanted to see our grandkids, you know, grow up. They're real small now, but I wanna be there. You know? I wanna be eighty, and I don't wanna be dependent on my kids. And so I was trying to convince Scott of that, and I think now he sees the value. Like, you don't realize how bad you feel until you feel better.
And so now he has more energy, to do things, like going and going to the gym together. It's just a different way to spend time.
Navigating Challenges Together
It's a it's a process. I mean, in the beginning, I didn't really know what to do. I was just trying to follow instructions. And there's there's little battles between the husband and wife. And every the the husband like, in my case, I had to be patient with that, but I still moved forward and and with with the process. I didn't give up on the process.
And I found a way to stay on track, to push some of the little issues that we had, which was, you know, weighing everything. All that all that's gonna happen in the beginning. And for the for the partner, the wife, to be a little bit to be patient with that and to maybe learn to understand the process that your husband is going through. Then you can work together as a team slowly at first, then it'll snowball.
The Ripple Effect of Positive Change
When you see the weight loss and you see the happiness and the change in your husband, it'll snowball to where you're going to be part of that process also naturally.
And I think in our culture, you know, women are always watching their weight. You know, it seems like, you know, it's it's more of a there's a lot more, support for women. And so a program like Default King really supports the man, you know, and just really helps them understand the process. Because like I said, I could have told Scott and I was you know, he was eating what I was eating, but he didn't see the value of certain things. Like, okay, I can fast or I can count calories, but he didn't see, you know, the value of looking at labels and seeing what's in the food and looking at PCR and just it educated him as well.
Men's Resistance to Change
I think those are things men do not want to do. I mean, I'm sure you have the experience with a lot of clients, and I'm sure some of them are like, what? I gotta do this now?
And I I I used to smoke a lot, and I quit. And at one time I was smoking. I had to patch on. I'm chewing the gum. I'm still smoking. And my wife knew I was smoking, and, she knew I was trying to quit, but it didn't happen.
And, it was getting really bad. I was coughing a lot. This was twenty five years ago. And she said, I know why you're not quitting.
You're not following the instructions on the package. I get get out of here. And you have to follow them to the end of the program, she said. So I would take the patch off after I thought I quit.
So this time, I said, okay. So I tried it again, and I followed the instructions. And I can remember taking the patch off in the third month, the last time, and I've never had the urge to smoke again. And I could have taken it off earlier, but I was afraid not to follow the instructions.
Commitment to Following Instructions
So that's kind of the process that I'm in right now. I wanna follow the instructions. I'm I'm afraid not to Mhmm. Because I don't I don't wanna fail.
And that's working.
That's fantastic. That is absolutely fantastic. I was having a conversation and maybe we'll round off here, but really good advice for anybody who is either engaging with us or on your own journey in some other way shape or form is to follow that process. And the way I think about this is almost like the Hebrew people in Egypt and then when they're in the desert and before they reach a promised land, they're in slavery and confusion for four hundred years in Egypt and then they get freed but they're still walking through the desert. They're learning the law, they're learning the process, they're building the habits so that they can have complete freedom in the promised land. And that is such a powerful mindset to carry through your journey is, okay, I am learning the process and ultimately leads to freedom long term.
Facing New Challenges Ahead
And there's still another mountain to climb. Climbed one mountain, and I've just watched some of your modules. And you go down into the valley, and I'm like, oh, darn.
This thing's bigger.
And I know that's gonna happen soon.
I'm prepared for that.
And I'm willing to make changes to get over that next mountain also. I'm prepared for that.
Amazing. Guys, thank you so much. I know this is going to bless so many families and so many husbands, wives, children. So thank you guys for both your time and for your commitment to this.
Thank you. Welcome.
